Student First, Always

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our much-loved colleague, friend and Chief Operating Officer, Kuljit Singh Uppal, who passed away on Tuesday, 11 August 2026.

There are some people whose presence is felt wherever they go, and Kuljit was one of those people.

He was warm, humble and incredibly kind. He had time for everyone, regardless of their role or how long they had been with us, and treated every person with the same respect. He had a way of making people feel comfortable, supported and valued.

Those who knew Kuljit will remember his smile, his sense of humour and the energy he brought with him. He could be leading the business one moment and sharing a joke with colleagues the next. He joined in, he encouraged people, he supported them, and he was never too senior to simply be one of the team.

His contribution to School of Coding & AI was immeasurable, but it is the person behind the role that we will miss most. A colleague, a mentor, a friend and, for so many of us, a huge part of the heart and soul of our organisation.

The shock of losing Kuljit is incredibly difficult to put into words. From everyone at School of Coding & AI, we are deeply saddened, and our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family, loved ones and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Thank you, Kuljit, for everything you gave to our organisation and, more importantly, to the people within it.

Your kindness, your laughter and that unforgettable smile will stay with us always.

Rest in peace, Kuljit. You will be deeply missed. 🤍

Every Tuesday, our team comes together for our weekly football session. ⚽

At School of Coding & AI, we believe a great workplace is about more than just what happens in the office. Every Tuesday, colleagues from across the organisation swap their desks for the football pitch, enjoying an hour of teamwork, friendly competition and plenty of laughs.

These sessions are a fantastic way to connect with colleagues from different departments, build stronger relationships and support both physical and mental wellbeing.

A huge thank you to Jasmer Hundal for organising these sessions and making them such a valued part of our culture.

This is just the beginning! We're committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels included, so we'll be introducing even more activities and wellbeing initiatives over the coming months to suit a wide range of interests. Whether it's sport, social events or team-building activities, there's something for everyone to get involved in.

Here's to many more Tuesdays on the pitch and many more opportunities to come together as one team. ⚽🙌

Today is International Self-Care Day. 💙

In a world that's always moving, it's easy to forget that taking care of yourself isn't a luxury, it's essential.

Whether you're a student preparing for exams, a lecturer supporting learners, or a professional balancing work and life, self-care plays an important role in helping us stay healthy, focused and resilient.

Self-care looks different for everyone. It might be taking a break, going for a walk, getting enough sleep, spending time with loved ones, or simply giving yourself permission to slow down.

At School of Coding & AI, we believe that success starts with wellbeing. When we invest in ourselves, we're better equipped to learn, grow and support those around us.

Today, take a moment to check in with yourself. Your wellbeing matters.

💬 What's one thing you'll do for yourself today?

What do you want to be when you grow up? 💭

It's a simple question, but the answers can shape futures.

A few weeks ago, we welcomed a fantastic group of work experience students into our organisation. For many of them, it was their very first experience of a professional working environment. We asked each student about their dream career. The answers ranged from footballer and basketball player to HR professional, but one ambition stood out above the rest: games development and technology.

What struck us wasn't just their enthusiasm, but their curiosity. They wanted to understand how technology is used in the workplace, what skills employers value, and what pathways they could take to turn their passion into a career.

This is exactly why work experience matters.

Work experience is more than a week away from the classroom. It helps young people connect education with opportunity. It gives them first-hand insight into how subjects they study today translate into real careers tomorrow. It builds confidence, develops workplace skills, and often helps students make more informed decisions about their next steps.

For those considering higher education, experiences like these are invaluable. Choosing a college course or university degree can feel overwhelming, but spending time in a real workplace allows students to explore industries, understand employer expectations, and identify the skills and qualifications they'll need to achieve their goals. It turns aspirations into achievable plans.

Higher education provides the knowledge, technical expertise and industry connections that help transform ambition into employability. When paired with meaningful work experience, students gain both the academic foundation and the practical understanding needed to succeed in today's evolving job market.

We're proud to have played a small part in helping these young people take their first step towards their future, and we can't wait to see where their ambitions lead them.
