Molineux this morning, though not for the football.

Fifteen of our Year 11 students were invited to the AI and Digital Skills Event, run by Wolves Foundation, as part of the club's 150th anniversary. They spent the morning with experts from Microsoft and Accenture, alongside employers from across the West Midlands, getting hands-on with AI and digital tools and seeing how they're already being used at work.

There was plenty on what comes next too, from apprenticeships to further study, and the chance to hear from people about how they ended up doing the jobs they do now.

A building doesn't make a school.

Our new building opened in January, which means our current Year 7s have never known the school without it.

Three terms in, it has settled into being simply where they learn. They know which stairs are quickest and where to find their form room without thinking about it.

A building doesn't make a school. The people do, and that was true of us long before January. But good spaces make more possible: more room for practical work, more space for clubs to run properly, more places for students and staff to do the things they're good at.

If you've walked past E72 on a Tuesday afternoon, you'll have heard Training Band.

Our music runs from Year 7 Choir on a Monday lunchtime through to Senior Choir, Orchestra, Musical Theatre Showcase and the Academy Big Band. Some require experience and some don't, so the best thing is to speak to one of our music teachers about where to start. Year 7 Choir is a good first step for anyone.

Whether your child has never picked up an instrument or has been playing for years, there's somewhere for them here. Our Music Department would happily take more brass, woodwind and percussion players this term, so if your child plays, or used to play and drifted away from it, please come and have a chat with our staff.

A child who arrives in Year 7 having never played a note can end up in the Big Band. We've watched it happen more than once.

Some of our students have been out in the great outdoors this week, taking on their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition.

The D of E programme challenges young people to develop resilience, teamwork and independence, and we're proud to be one of a small number of schools to offer the full programme, all the way from Bronze through to Gold.

Our students trekked, camped overnight and completed another full day on the trail before heading home today. Well done to staff and students who braved the rain!

We're running more than fifty clubs and activities each week this term, and twenty-nine of those are open to our Year 7 students alone.

Football, netball, badminton, volleyball, rugby, basketball and fitness; chess, film, dance, cheerleading, Horrible Histories and classics; choir, training band and musical theatre. The library is open every morning and homework club runs four nights a week.

For our Year 7s, one of the twenty-nine is invitation only. The other twenty-eight are open to anyone who turns up, which is how we'd want it.

Ask your child what they fancy trying this term. Most of it needs nothing more than turning up!

Christ Church, Tettenhall Wood will be full of music on Saturday 17 October, when our musicians perform at this year's Musicians Concert.

The concert begins at 7.00 pm, and tickets are £8, available on the door or from the Parish Office on 01902 238988.

A few families have asked us the same question recently, so it's worth answering plainly. You don't need to attend church to apply to St Peter's, and you don't need to attend church to be offered a place.

We are a Church of England school and our Christian character matters to us. It shapes the way we treat one another, but it isn't a requirement for joining us.

A small number of places each year are Foundation Places, for families who worship regularly, and those need a separate form. Everyone else applies in exactly the same way as they would to any other school, through the local authority where you live.
