Come and See what Sharon is boosting about https: //bit.ly/36DLv0I

We asked Sharon how she felt going back to work after her 2 children were born and how Moonstone helped to ease what many describe as the 'mom guilt'. This is was she had to say:

"As a working parent finding the right provider for my children was so important as it lowers my anxieties so that I can work to provide for my family knowing they are cared for. Being able to talk to someone about my children and working together to help them grow is amazing, and no question is too silly to ask. As a parent I feel listened to and supported. Being updated and included in what my child is doing means I am not worrying. They understand my child's needs, they give them experiences I couldn't, and it makes me smile when my children shows me what they have done that day. Most importantly my child is safe, is learning, is happy and loves going to nursery."
COME AND LEARN ABOUT US FOR YOURSELF https://bit.ly/36DLv0I
Parents are children's first teachers and so it is vital for our roles that we have a strong partnership with parents/carers.

Some common misconception we hear as a team that we would love to put right::
1. That's easy, all you do is play all day
2. How did you miss that, you are paid to babysit
3. Parents evening at nursery isn't important
4. Nursery schools are better than private school. Afterall, it guarantee my child a place in the school
5. Education starts when they start school

It is a fact that children start to learn even before they are born.

Practitioners are early years teachers who are trained to teach children through play to develop all the important basic skills and knowledge they need to progress at school. Private nursery, childminder or a school, we all teach the same thing. Nevertheless, a place in a nursery doesn't guarantee a place in the school since you will have to apply again for a school place.

Yes we are playing but that is because it is by far the best way to teach children. Children's brains are more receptive when they are happy, relaxed and doing the things they enjoy.

Parents are children's first teachers and so it is vital for our roles that we have a strong partnership with parents/carers. We plan workshop, fun days, coffee morning and parents evening, all in an effort to develop stronger partnerships and we really appreciate when parents cooperate.
Did you know that the Department for Education has a standard in place which all Early Years provision (childminders, private nurseries, nursery school up to reception class) has to uphold.

As a parent you can be confident in choosing the best environment for your family as we all have to teach exactly the same thing.

If there were no obstacles, what would you be doing now as a job: Exactly what I am doing now. Being apart of children's development and supporting parents in giving them the best start.

Hey. If we haven't met,

I’m Kerrie-Ann, wife to mark, mother to Aliyah, Beniah and another 200+ amazing children here at Moonstone.

Here’s a quick Q&A about me:

1 - My favourite book is: Usually whatever I am reading at the time. Currently reading 'Crazy Faith' Michael Todd
2 - My #1 comfort food is: Has to be salted caramel cookie dough
3 - My coffee order is: Hate the stuff
4 - The thing I love to do most is: Dream about the next thing
5 - One thing people don’t know about me is: I have 8 brothers and 4 sisters
6 - My most used emoji is: More a GIF user than emojis
7 - The last thing I binge-watched was: Inventing Anna
8 - My dream holiday would be: 2 weeks in Italy to see all of it
9 - The person who inspires me the most is: Mom you show me consistently that perseverance wins all the time
10 - If there were no obstacles, what would you be doing now as a job: Exactly what I am doing now. Being apart of children's development and supporting parents in giving them the best start.

Now over to you!
1. BEING ABLE TO PARTNER WITH FAMILIES
2. THERE IS SO MUCH JOY WATCHING CHILDREN DEVELOP ACADEMICALLY BUT ALSO IN CONFIDENCE
3. WE ARE ENTHUSED BECAUSE NO 2 DAY IS THE SAME.

So I ask the Team, Why do you do what you do? I became so emotional as they just kept going and going...

Life is so short! Do you love what you do?

The English dictionary defines purpose as “the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.”

There are so many reasons we do things…maybe life took you down a certain path…or you have a family to care for…or a spouse or friend persuaded you…maybe sometimes you even look back and wonder how you got here.

I spend almost all my time leading a team of professionals who are totally driven by seeing children become well rounded individuals.

The fastest way to ignite your passion for something is to remind yourself why you’re doing it. That will help you get through times when things don’t go as expected, or take longer than you think.

Just remember your WHY and keep working at it! You can do it!
We're all someone's good luck charm. Tag a friend who brings you good luck and always supports you!

Keep sharing and a friend in need of CHILDCARE will be so grateful.

THE BEST WAY TO FIND OUT WHAT WE ARE ABOUT IS STILL TO COME AND SEE.

We are not perfect but definitely the family environment you would love to be in. We sometimes get it wrong but will always do everything inn our powers to put it right.

Here is what parents and professionals have had to say about us:

Great nursery with great staff and excellent facilities. Kids settled in really well and enjoyed their time there. Would certainly recommend this place to other parents.

Humayun Raja, 2021

Children show that they feel settled and safe. They actively seek out adults for
support and their care needs are met well. Children enjoy positive relationships
with the adults who care for them...

Children show positive attitudes to learning. They are keen to have a go at
something new and enthusiastically gather around the familiar staff to find out
information and to practise developing skills.

I feel guilty for going back to work. Be encouraged, if you are happy, they will be happy. Choose the right nursery and they will flourish.

I am a full time parent, there is no need for my baby to be at nursery. There is no need but there also no disadvantages but so many benefits.

Our Mission:
In partnership with parents, we will focus on quality education and care for all, creating leaders for life.

Crazy but true. 'They' (who are they?) say that without being at home with your baby full time you lose out on well needed bonding time and miss their development.

It would be no surprise to hear I don't agree.

Both my babies started nursery well before they were 3 months old. We are extremely close and I have never felt as though I missed out. Instead, every moment with them was quality time.

What’s so great about nursery anyway?

Happy Chinese New Year! 🎉

Today is the 1st day in the Chinese calendar where Chinese people all over the world will get together and enjoy family time 🐲

#ChineseNewYear #HappyChineseNewYear #chinesecalendar #chinesecelebration #familytime
Happy Australia Day! On this day we reflect on the history and celebrate Australia for its achievements and most of all, its people. 🇦🇺

#HappyAustraliaDay #AustraliaDay
Today, at nursery we are doing all things Australia. It would be amazing to get on the plane and see it for ourselves but we don't have to, to experience it. #australiaday

Ideas:
1) Roast Lamb is the national dish of Australia. Why not try Roast Lamb today for dinner
2) Some of our children have been using straws to design firework patterns. You could try this at home.
3) You create your very own Australian flag.

Key to children's development is a rounded knowledge of the world they live in. As practitioners, we try to enhance the experience and opportunities available to children through role play, trips, circle time and the activities w expose them to. Children get to experience different family types, different cultures and to celebrate various festivals with others around the world.
We continue to educate our children about healthy choices using #mickymesize #startwell.

Activity:
It’s dinnertime for the soft toys. With your child, set out a dinner area with plates/bowls and either pretend or real food from your kitchen. Remember that the smaller toys have smaller tummies and need less to eat.

Micky Me Size encourages children to have the correct portion size for their age. Children should be eating ‘me size meals’. Toddlers and children have smaller stomachs than adults so it is important they eat smaller amounts of food regularly. Offering large platefuls of food can be overwhelming and stop children enjoying mealtimes, plus if they eat more than their small bodies need it converts to stored fat in their bodies which can lead to childhood obesity and illnesses like heart disease, type 2 diabetes and cancer later in life. https://startwellbirmingham.co.uk/mickey-me-size/#next
