Dear All,
As we come together to celebrate Vaisakhi, I would like to take a moment to wish each and every one of you a joyful and blessed occasion.
Vaisakhi holds profound significance in the Sikh faith. It marks the founding of the Khalsa in 1699 by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, a moment that defined a collective commitment to courage, equality, service, and justice. Central to this moment were the Panj Pyare; Bhai Daya Singh, Bhai Dharam Singh, Bhai Himmat Singh, Bhai Mohkam Singh, and Bhai Sahib Singh, who each demonstrated unwavering faith, selflessness, and bravery.
These values resonate deeply with our own principles. The spirit of:
- Service (Seva) – reflected in the care and dedication you show to our pupils and communities every day
- Equality and Inclusion – ensuring every child is seen, valued, and given the opportunity to thrive
- Courage and Integrity – leading with purpose, making the right decisions, and striving for excellence even when it is challenging
- Community (Sangat) – working together across our schools as one Trust, united in our mission
Vaisakhi is a reminder that leadership is not about position, but about action, character, and service to others. Across our Trust, I see these qualities lived out daily in your work, your commitment, and your belief in what we are building together.
Thank you for the difference you make to our children, families, and wider communities.
I hope this Vaisakhi brings you and your loved ones peace, reflection, and renewed strength.

Over the weekend we were invited to be part of an exclusive private screening in the heart of Central London to support the fantastic short film , which was written, produced, directed and starred . The film is the first in a series of short films that bring to life the five vices of anger, greed, attachment, lust and ego — the five thieves of spirituality as taught by the Sikh Gurus.
We were honoured to partner with Ranjit Singh who filmed some scenes at our East London school .
Jas Singh, our Head of Faith and Community Engagement said “This was a great short film that really showcases and aligns with our Trust’s values. The message of daya (compassion) over krodh (anger) resonated with me and I hope it does the same with everyone who watches it.”

The next video in our monthly series is here!
In this episode, Guru Arjan Dev Ji explains that we should remain close to the saints, practice compassion, and meditate on the name of the Divine. By doing so, we will become the most exalted. In this month we also remember the sacrifice of the 40 Mukte (liberated ones) who fought in the Battle of Muktsar Sahib alongside Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
With English translation & simple explanations, the Barah Maha Katha series is ideal for children and families.

Please continue to share with your family and friends.
Let this month inspire growth & gratitude, together as one. 🙏

Shaheedi Week 2025
The infuriated Wazir Khan ordered for the young Sahibzade of Guru Gobind Singh Ji to be executed in a horrific way. Stood between two walls they were bricked up alive. It is said that the knees of the young children were not allowing the wall to be built completely straight. As a result, it was ordered that their kneecaps be broken. Some historians claim that they died from suffocation and then had their throats slit, others claim they were beheaded for shouting jaikare so boldly. Regardless of the way in which they were martyred, the fact remains that the two younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji embraced death before they embraced Islam. Mata Gujri Ji, who was still captive in the Thanda Burj also breathes her last breath on this day, as she vowed to always remain with the Sahibzade until the end.

Shaheedi Week 2025
Hearing the stories of their forefathers, the two young Sahibzade grew in strength, courage and bravery. They were taken to the court of Wazir Khan, where they were propositioned with a life of luxury, land, titles and money, if they renounced Sikhi and accepted Islam. The two brave sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji laughed at the very notion of converting to Islam. When asked what they would do if they were released, the boys claimed proudly that they would return home and once they were of age, they would return to Sirhind and finish what their elder brothers had started — the destruction of the Mughal empire.
