I like to say โ€well done!โ€ to Samantha Roberts who passed the practical test on her first attempt this morning at the Wolverhampton Driving Test Centre. With compliments from the examiner and only 2 driver faults Samantha aced it. ๐Ÿ˜Ž. Enjoy driving your Teran and taking the kids on days out Samantha!

I'd like to say "well done!" to one of my pupils, Alex Pinches, who passed the practical test at Wolverhampton today. Alex put in a good drive and passed with a clean sheet. Enjoy building up experience in your Renault Alex.

I had a first in my career today - I was unable to take someone to the test centre due to being ill (I am self-isolating due to catching Covid 19). Luckily, Charli had been practicing in her own car as well having lessons and was able to attend the Wolverhampton test centre in her Peugeot. She put in a very good drive with only two driver faults giving herself an early Christmas present with a first-time pass. Well done Charli! I hope that you enjoy building up experience in your car and that your degree in medicine goes well.

June 2021 proved to be a busy month with people taking tests that had been cancelled during the lockdowns. Of 7 first time attempts on the practical test, five of my clients passed - a first time pass rate of 71%. It was nice to see after all the delays. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I have received an email today from the DVSA saying that lessons can restart next week (12/04/21). I will be contacting people to get things going again. I think this time we won't be stopping for Covid 19 restrictions - fingers crossed! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

After the announcement by Boris Johnson driving lessons may resume on April 12th if things go according to plan. We won't know for sure until the week before when the government will confirm whether we are going into the next phase of lifting the lockdown.

When I know that lessons are definitely going to start again I will begin to contact people. In the meantime, I hope everybody stays safe.

As expected, the Covid 19 situation has gotten worse with Boris Johnson announcing a lockdown for England yesterday evening. The following is an email I have received from the DVSA:

Driving and riding lessons and tests โ€“ National Lockdown

On 4 January, the government announced a new national lockdown to control the spread of coronavirus.
You can read more about the lockdown measures on gov.uk

Driving and riding lessons

Driving and riding lessons, including CBT must not take place until the restrictions are lifted. This includes ADI part 2 and 3 tests and standards checks.

Driving and riding tests
All driving and riding tests have been suspended from 5 January until the restrictions are lifted.
We'll email candidates who are affected by this to let them know we will reschedule their test.
If you have booked a test for any of your pupils you will receive an email to let you know it will be rescheduled to a new time and date. You will need to contact your pupil to let them know.
Weโ€™ll then send you an email with the new time and date as soon as possible; please ask your pupils to be patient.
If the new time and date is not suitable for you or your pupil, you can choose a different time and date on GOV.UK. You will need your pupilโ€™s driving licence number to do this. Your pupil does not need to pay again to do this.

Theory tests

All theory tests will be suspended until the restrictions are lifted.
We will email anyone who has booked a test and is affected by this to let them know their theory test is on hold and that they will need to reschedule it by visiting https://www.gov.uk/change-theory-test.
If you booked your pupilโ€™s theory test you will need to log into the booking system and rearrange their test for a new date and time.

I hope everyone stays safe during this difficult time and will contact people when I hear from the DVSA when lessons can restart. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

After the announcement today regarding the West Midlands and Staffordshire moving into Tier 4 I will be unable to deliver driving lessons and practical tests will be cancelled at the test centres that I use with my clients (Wolverhampton, Dudley and Featherstone). The next review of the tier system is set for 13/01/21 but I feel we will be in Tier 4 after this date as the number of infections are likely to continue rising after today and it could be a while before the numbers are low enough for us to be scaled back down to Tier 3.

In the meantime, I hope everyone stays safe. I will contact people when I hear from the DVSA that lessons can resume.

I was pleased to have a thick fleece today and my winter coat that had been made in Sweden as due to Covid 19 I had to wait outside the Wolverhampton test centre while a client was taking their driving test. I'd like to congratulate Spencer Elcock on passing the practical test on his first attempt with only two driver faults. Hope you enjoy building up experience in your Corsa Spencer! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

04/12/2020

Iโ€™m pleased to say that my first client to have a test after the 2nd lockdown of 2020 was successful today, passing the practical test on her first attempt. Rebecca took her test at Kingswinford and passed with only 3 driver faults - well done! ๐Ÿ‘ Hope you enjoy building up your experience in your Fiat 500 Rebecca. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I have just had an email saying driving lessons can restart with tests starting again on 03/12 in Tier 3 areas. I'll be contacting people over the next couple of days to get their lessons going again.

Can anyone tell me what type of crossing is pictured below?

15/11/2020

I hope everyone is keeping safe during the current lockdown. Driving lessons and tests have been suspended until 02/12/2020, I feel that this may well last longer. When I hear from the DVSA that teaching can resume I will start contacting people who are having lessons at the moment with me, or those who had their first lesson booked before this restriction began.
