Huxton Resourcing are currently recruiting for experienced and committed Learning Support Assistants who are interested in a role supporting vulnerable young people within their Education.

The position will require supporting young adults, with Special Educational Needs, Learning Disabilities, Challenging Behaviour and/or Mental Health difficulties.

The role:

Supporting young adults through their timetable, providing support 1:1
Supporting in and around the campus, to and from lessons and during breaks
Supporting with curriculum needs, dependant on individual timetable both practical and theory
Supporting with personal care (if required)
Promoting independence
Ideal candidates:

Previous Learning Support Assistant, Learning Support experience working with children or young adults 6 months minimum is essential
Have an understanding of learning difficulties, challenging behaviour, mental health and how these can affect an individual’s education and day-to-day additional needs
Committed, consistent and reliable
Hold a full enhanced Adults and Children's DBS, or be willing to complete one
Job Type: Full-time timetables, during term time only

Monday – Friday, between the hours of 09.00am – 16:00pm

Huxton Resourcing are currently recruiting for a number of Day and Night Support Worker’s for our clients based in the Black Country area which includes West Bromwich, Oldbury, Dudley, Halesowen, Wednesbury, Walsall and surrounding areas. We need Support Workers who are committed in providing care and support to children with dificulties such as Emotional, Behavioural, Learning and Mental Health. You will be joining an experienced, friendly team who really believe in adding value and bringing the best out of the individuals they support day in and day out.

As part of the team, you will be delivering the highest standards of care, protection and support to Children and Young People by facilitating their physical and psychological development. You will be responsible for promoting a positive, safe and homely environment for all the young people. Other duties involve supporting children and young People by engaging them in various activities, supporting their education and ensuring that the home is kept to a good standard.

Having experience in providing support in this environment is an advantage and been able to build good professional relationships with Young People, their families and outside agencies. Also experience with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and challenging behaviour is essential.

You will need to provide practical support during the day for all the young people and be aware of the individual’s needs, their care plans and risk assessments.

Other responsibilities include ensuring the security of the building and the safety of the young people. To promote and support with routine of the young people ensuring they are supported and encouraged. You will be required keep logos and report any incidents and accidents.

Many of these positions are ongoing guaranteed hours. Also many of these opportunities can lead to permanent positions for the right applicant having access to your own transport is an advantage.

Residential Support Worker - Learning Disabilities

Huxton Resourcing are recruiting for experienced and compassionate Residential Support Workers to work with two young adults aged 19 years with Autism and Challenging Behaviour within a new established residential home based in Clent, Stourbridge. This is a great opportunity to work for a highly established provider of Education and Residential services for adults with disabilities.

This position will start week commencing 19/08/2019 - full induction and training will be provided.

The role:

Supporting with all aspects of daily living skills, communication and personal care as required.
Ensuring the safety and well being of the young adults at all times.
Requirements for the role:

Must be a car driver due to the location of the home.
Hold a NVQ Level 2 or above in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
Over 6 months relevant experience supporting young adults/children with Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Learning Disabilities or communication difficulties.
Hours of work - 14:30 - 22:00 plus a sleep in and then 07:00 - 10:00 this position is 40 hours per week.

Huxton Resourcing are currently seeking Education Support Workers for our client in the Telford area. They are a secondary Alternative Provision Academy for students aged 14-16 years that provides full and part-time education and support for children and young people who, for a variety of reasons, are unable to access mainstream education.

These positions are full time, term time only and require commitment for the full academic year to ensure consistency for the students. Their working day is approximately 9am till 2pm and runs Monday to Friday.

Our clients’ goal is to provide all children and young people with an appropriate and carefully considered range of opportunities. This enables them to gain personal fulfilment through learning by developing positive self-esteem and helps them unlock their academic potential. By taking into account the wider social and emotional needs of each individual, as a support worker you will need to work exceptionally hard to transform students’ motivation and develop the whole child spiritually, emotionally, morally, socially and intellectually. You will also be required to be involved in liaising with a wide range of other agencies in order to ensure that our youngsters, and their families, are appropriately supported. The role will require you to work closely with vulnerable people from the ages of 11-17 years that have experienced trauma, child sexual exploitation and display challenging behaviour.

The suitable candidate will need to have a passion for making a difference to the lives of young people and be willing to prepare them into leading independent lives as well as enabling them to develop the necessary life skills.

You will be required to support the young individuals within the residential setting as well as in the community.

Candidates that have a background of working with young people and adults with challenging behaviour, learning difficulties, EBD, mental health or youth work will be considered for the role. Full training will also be provided by the company.

The ideal candidate should:

be flexible and adaptable to challenging situations

Support Worker, Children and Young Adults

The role will require you to work closely with vulnerable people from the ages of 11-17 years that display challenging behaviour, offending behaviour and have experienced trauma through abuse or neglect.

You will need to have a passion for making a difference to the lives of young people and be willing to prepare them into leading independent lives as well as enabling them to develop the necessary life skills.

Candidates that have a background of working with young people and adults with challenging behaviour, learning difficulties, EBD, mental health or youth work will be considered for the role.

Permanent days and waking night positions available
Bank positions available for days and waking nights also

The ideal candidate:

Hold an NVQ Level 3 in childcare, Health and Social Care or equivalent (desired, but not essential)
A drive and ability to work with and support young people with challenging behaviour
Have knowledge of why difficult behaviours arise from a history of abuse
Provide a professional approach when supporting each young person
Have an Enhanced DBS, or be willing to apply for one if successful for the role
