Perton will be rocking our socks again this year!
Tomorrow children and staff will be wearing odd socks to raise awareness of Down Syndrome.
The 21 March is World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) as declared by the United Nations General Assembly in December 2011.
On this day, people with Down syndrome and those who live and work with them throughout the world organise and participate in activities or events to raise public awareness to create a single global voice advocating for the rights, inclusion and well being of people with Down syndrome.
Children's Mental Health Week is taking place on 7th to 13th February 2022. This year's theme is Growing Together.
We will be encouraging children (and adults) to consider how they have grown, and how they can help others to grow.
Please see the attached pdf and let your class teacher know how many wellbeing activities you can tick off in a week!
Well done Mrs Place you are our staffroom shout out for this week....what an amazing job you do for both us at Perton Primary and Church Eaton....
To finish off our topic, Muck, Mess and Mixtures, Year 2 created their own art gallery to show case their portraits. We have looked at 3 different techniques, realism, pointillism and surrealism.
The children worked very hard and loved that their parents got to come and view it.
As part of our Scrumddidlyumptious Topic, Year 3's innovate challenge was to create smoothies. They chose different fruits, created recipes and made them in groups. All Year 3 were extremely open-minded in trying their creations! Well done Year 3!
For Year 2’s topic, Muck, Mess and Mixtures, we have been exploring colour mixing. We identified primary colours and used these to make secondary colours. This will help us create our Art Gallery next week 🎨
We are so proud of you Amelia-Mae. Keep being PERTON! 😁
Today we said goodbye to Mrs Merrick, one of our cleaning staff, as she begins her retirement. You will be missed by all at Perton Academy. Wishing you all the best for your retirement ✨
