When the rainy weather stops our morning play outside, we makesure we still have lots of messy fun inside!
The children explored hidden colours under shaving foam, opening up conversations about what colour they had found and how it felt in between their fingers.

Our story this week is Olivers Vegetables 🥔🥕🥬
We read the story at group time and passed around different Vegetables as we read about them in the story.
The children got to touch them, smell them and were very excited to try some of them at snacktime.
Just like Oliver, they tried some carrots and some sugarsnap peas.
We spoke about the different flavours and whether we liked them or not.

The children have been enjoying celebrating Sir David Attenborough's 100th Birthday 🎂

We have made birthday cakes with playdough, planted sunflower seeds, explored mark making on worksheets, role played with wild animals, and have enjoyed hunting for mini beasts in our garden.

The children have also enjoyed listening to our new story books all about animals!

Carrying on with our story book 'The Little Red Hen' we have made our own Hen pictures and also enjoyed messy play where we used our imagination with water and pipettes, oats and flour.

Our story of the week is 'The Little Red Hen'
We cooked some part baked rolls so the children could smell the fresh warm bread smell. It opened up questions about being kind, helping eachother and how we can achieve those things, just like the Miller and the Baker helped Little Red Hen 🍞🐓
