Santander Scholarships | Santander Universities Research Grants 31/07/2023

Santander Universities have launched a new initiative providing the opportunity to win one of 50 research grants of £1000.

This opportunity is open to staff and postgraduate students (masters and doctoral students) conducting any form of research at any UK university. You don’t need to be Santander customers to apply.

The funding is given as cash and can be spent on anything that supports the winner’s research, including equipment, resources, travel expenses and any other research costs.

The 50 grants will be allocated on a random basis.

Applications are open from 17 July to 12 October 2023.

To apply, please visit the Santander Scholarships platform, where you'll need to register an account. After registering, you will get a confirmation email. You can then complete the application form and apply for the grant.

University of Manchester Medical and Biophysics society and Lancaster University Cancer Research UK society are hosting an online “Careers in Cancer” event this Saturday 18th March from 9am-12pm via Teams. Relevant for all STEM students.

There will be 6 speakers (professors, medical and surgical oncologists, researchers, radiologists and PhD students) who are going to share their stories about their career paths and discuss their work. This is a great opportunity for students to learn more about career opportunities in this field.

The event is free and online and attendees can join the event for specific speakers or for the whole programme. There will also be a raffle at the end of the event raising money for Cancer Research UK.

exploring Black British history, cultures and steps to anti-racism.
The programme responds to University UK's ‘Tackling racial
harassment in higher education’ report and is designed to drive
cultural change across the Higher Education sector.

Freely available to students and staff members at UK Universities for the next three years, the short course is delivered through a mixture of online learning content, discussion forums, reading materials and interactive activities which can be completed in the learners’ own time and at their own pace.

All learners will receive a certificate of performance upon
completion. In addition, all students who complete the course by 2
May 2022 will be in with the chance of being awarded a £500 grant
