Good evening I'm scoping around staffordshire for alternatives south staffordshire(tamworth college), I am not too happy with the lack of explination about smaller filler courses and the lack of choice in them when I enrolled in btec ICT level 1, so I was wondering if I may transfer over to your campus, Please contact me via inbox, if possible. thank you for reading. :)

Celebrating success! Dawn Cooper, executive officer at Elston Hall Learning Trust, completed a Level 3 Certificate in Human Resource Management at the college in June 2021 and has now progressed to the Level 5 CIPD Associate Diploma in People Management!

Dawn Said: "I am gaining indepth knowledge of the HR profession, learning the significance and importance of human resource management and increasing confidence in my ability to carry out the HR functions of my role."

Kacey Howell is currently enrolled Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts. She enjoys the course and the hands-on learning it provides!

Kacey said: "Whilst I was at school I was unsure of my education route after my GCSEs and, having worked hard in academic subjects, I wanted more practical training to prepare me for my future career.... I’ve settled in well have a good relationship with the tutor and other students and enjoy the practical work. I’m glad I made the decision that I did – I look forward to coming to college and believe it was the best choice for me!"

Revising for your GCSE exams over the Easter break? Here are some simple tips to help make revising a little more easier!

Step up a place to revise - If you can, set up a nice space where you can revise. You'll need somewhere distraction free with good lighting.

Be active - Do practice papers, discuss the revision material with your friends. Create quizzes and test yourself!

Get plenty of rest! - Getting good sleep and exercise can help you stay alert and perform better in exams.

Alex Pavey is currently in his first year of his music technology.

Having a passion for music, Alex hopes to be a live sound engineer in the future.

Alex said: "Music is my passion and I love how someone’s day can be influenced just by listening to a song... The tutors made lessons really interesting as they’ve got experience of working in the industry themselves and it’s a good environment to learn in as there are small class sizes and everyone has the same interest and goals so can help each other out – I feel like I’m where I’m meant to be!"

Let's talk about SWAPs.

We are often asked, "What are SWAPs?" simply put, it's our Sector-based Work Academy. It's designed to help people who are unemployed and looking to return to work, reskill through training.

We currently have the following SWAPs available:
- Construction Plant Operations, including Groundworks
- Plastering and Skimming
- Rail Track Laying and Maintenance
- Green Technologies and Electric Vehicles

By the end of a SWAPs programme, you'll have a job interview or help with the recruitment process.

Not true.

Apprenticeships are available across many different sectors, including Marketing, Business Admin, Hairdressing, Engineering and so much more.

Inspired by our open day! Rhiannon Cooper, 17, changed her mind about doing a games design course after passing by our photography studio and speaking with a tutor at one of our college open days.

Rhiannon is now studying a Level 3 extended diploma in photography with us and is on the second year of her course!

Rhiannon said "I settled in well and made some really good friends and it’s a good environment to work in. The tutors are great and support us with everything – they have all worked in the industry so we can benefit from their personal experience".
