Following on from our recent chat with Relax Kids Wolverhampton with Sian (which you can catch up on here -

Sian has offered to host a Tots Play - Special Grown Up session for us for just Β£4 for a 40 min evening relaxation session.

Session Description taken from the Relax Kids website ...

"Learn new skills to manage anxiety and stress
Learn simple exercises to help you feel more calm and connected
Learn tools to help you feel more able to cope and stay in control

Join a fun and enjoyable relaxation session incorporating gentle movement, ice-breaker games, simple stretches, self-massage, breathing exercises, positive affirmations, relaxations, mindfulness and visualisations

Just Relax sessions are suitable for men and women"

Before we firm up a date I just want to check interest so if you would like to take 40 mins out for yourself and enjoy some calm and positivity then comment below letting us know your evening preference. (Wed / Thur / Fri)

Sessions will be hosted via Zoom.

Where we’re based, September is when the new school year begins & while for some this is a time for excitement, for others this can be a source of anxiety.

Make time to listen to your child’s feelings about going to school and acknowledge how they feel. Why not talk together about a plan to help? Our relaxation books and cds are a perfect way to bring some calm to your home - if you’d like any recommendations then please get in touch.

As we’ve had a lot of new followers lately, I thought I’d share a little information about me!


πŸ’œβ­οΈ Attention all school & nursery staff & parents β­οΈπŸ’œ

πŸ’œ I now have limited availability for school and nursery bookings for Relax Kids classes from September 2022.

πŸ’œ Classes can be booked for individual children, small group work and whole classes.

πŸ’œ All sessions include mindful movement and games, stretching, self-massage, breathing techniques, positive affirmations and growth mindset and relaxation.

πŸ’œ Children will be introduced to a toolbox of strategies and techniques to help notice, understand and manage their emotions (such as anger, stress, worry/anxiety).

πŸ’œ As an experienced Primary School Teacher as well as a Relax Kids coach, I am able to offer half termly or termly blocks of sessions, and one-off workshops. Classes can be booked to cover PPA and enrichment for the entire academic year.

In the last four days, I’ve loved running 4 group sessions & 2 one-to-ones (one with my very own shining star who I think was feeling left out that Mummy was doing Relax Kids with lots of other children and asked to do some!)

It’s been so good to be back out this week, spreading the Relax Kids magic for a local charity. It’s fabulous to see the changes in the children already after just two sessions - I can’t wait for our next one!

πŸ’« Calm Jars πŸ’«

We’ve all been mesmerised this week by our calm jars!

A resounding success in this week’s one-to-one session as well as with my own little one!

Why not make your own? You’ll need a clean, empty plastic bottle and lid, glitter & glitter glue in a colour of your choice and warm water plus some glycerin (found in the baking aisle).

Fill the bottle about 3/4 with warm water, then add plenty of glitter glue, a tube of glitter & then a few drops of glycerin. Give it a good shake (make sure the lid is on properly 😁) to mix it all up, then you’re good to go πŸ’œ

Once it’s ready, give it a shake then hold it still and watch as it all settles back to calm again.

What makes you happy?

We went for a walk yesterday and my three year old insisted, β€œStop Mummy!” So we did.
β€œLook! There’s a wall! It’s brilliant! I’m really excited.”

It was the wall of a house (!) and a great reminder to me to be more like a toddler and view the world with awe and wonder. We both felt happy after our little explore round the local streets!

I'm very grateful for all the strong women in my life - my family, friends, colleagues and of course those in my Relax Kids tribe!



In twenty years time...
People will not ask the children of 2020 if they caught up with their studies.
They will not ask them what grades they made, despite the year off school.
They will ask them with wonder β€˜what was it like?’
They will ask them β€˜how did you cope?’
β€˜How did you feel?’
β€˜What do you remember of those days?”
They will listen in awe to the tales of clapping on doorsteps for the medical workers.
They will sit open-mouthed to hear of daily walks being the only life we saw and how much we missed human contact and gatherings.
They will be amazed to know about empty supermarkets, online concerts, birthdays spent on a screen and a life lived inside.

They will listen, then sit back with amazement and say, β€˜Wow. You went through so much.’

So think about what you would like your children to take away from this whole year.
Tell them they are not behind.
Tell them they are not missing out.
Tell them they are extremely special indeed and they will be forever made stronger by this unique time.
Tell them catching up is not even a thing because they have grown so much in so many other ways.

Remind them too of the fun stuff, the family jigsaws, the window rainbows, the zoom bingo.
The feeling of safety and togetherness amidst the chaos.

Let them take that thought with them through life.
Change the narrative now and it will travel far.

Tell the children they are not behind.
They are special.

They are special.
