Huge congratulations to Dhiya on completing level J of the math programme, meaning she has completed all the number and algebra elements required for GCSE math well before sitting her actual GCSE. Dhiya recently left after 9 years of outstanding dedication to her Kumon math and English. We wish her all the best for the future. I am sure she will achieve great success ahead.

Belated congratulations also to sister Vidya on securing a place at Wolverhampton Girls High School. Vidya is currently studying high school algebra ahead of her age, having committed 6 years of study.
Both siblings have been supported with great commitment from their parents in attending classes, marking homework and motivating the girls over the years. Thank you to both parents.

Excellent attitude to self-learn long division (possibly the hardest topic that many students find difficult at primary school). First attempt with only 2 mistakes. Alex has come a long way, from a child who found math hard to a more confident child with confidence to try new work. And look at the presentation! 💯

Excellent self-learning of factorisation by student RS. RS will not be encountering factorisation at school for a while yet, but with Kumon our students have freedom to advance ahead of school. The Kumon connect App, which more and more students are adapting to, allows me to monitor students homework and guide them as required and connect with them even when they are not at the centre. Our Story

The centre opened in 2008 and provides maths and English programmes for students of all ages and abilities. Many of the students at the centre attend schools within the area and live in the local community.

I was attracted to the idea of becoming an Instructor for Kumon after experiencing a dramatic improvement in my daughters education a year after her starting Kumon. Initially, she was a quiet child who did not take well to math and English. During the course of her Kumon study she gained confidence and a sense of enjoyment in not only math and English but in subjects throughout school. Kumon developed her resilience and perseverance and helped her overcome her fear of new work, to the extent that she was well over three years ahead of school by the time she finished her primary school education. This was the contributing factor to her successfully passing her 11 plus entrance exams, securing a place at Wolverhmapton Girls High School. She recently finished her GCSEs and has always been thankful to her Kumon studies in helping her to organise her own work and being able to solve problems herself, a trait that all Grammar Schools look for in thir students. Over the years i have witnessed similar stories and successes in other students at the centre which has been very rewarding and we look forward to more successes.

Conveniently located at the heart of Blakenhall, the centre is situated at St Luke's Church Hall, the entrance to which is via Moore Street South. The centre provides both a classroom and a room for parents to wait while their children attend the class. Parking facilities are available at the centre.

At present, students at the centre range from four to 13 years old. Most of them have been students at the centre since it first opened and are all making excellent progress.

All English students read to a member of staff at each visit before they do any written work. This allows a record on their reading ability to be kept.

The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.
