💬 SEND White Paper – what’s actually happening?

You may have seen a lot of posts, headlines and “leaks” about the SEND White Paper over the last few days, with some suggesting it’s being released today.

👉 As of this morning, there is NO official confirmation that the White Paper is being published today.

What’s happening instead:

There has been a lot of media speculation and selective briefings

Some organisations have responded to leaks, not an official document

This has understandably caused anxiety for parents

💡 The most important thing to know right now:
✅ SEND law has NOT changed
✅ EHCPs remain fully legally binding
✅ Rights to assessment, provision and tribunal are unchanged

Until the White Paper is formally published, everything currently in place still stands.

I know how worrying this uncertainty can feel. Please be reassured that if and when the White Paper is released, there will be time to:

read it properly

understand what is proposed (not what’s rumoured)

and respond or challenge where needed

I’ll continue to share clear, accurate updates as soon as anything is officially published — without the panic.

Some more very pleasing feedback about one of my students in the form of an email from the maths teacher of a Y11 student who started having sessions with me this time last year. 😁😃

My Mon-Thu weeknight slots are all taken, so I only have one on Friday evening left so my other current availability is only a couple of slots on Saturday afternoon.
