Top Tip: Answer the questions you know first
If possible, do a first look through the test paper and answer the questions you know right away. If you come across a question you can't answer relatively quickly, skip it on the first pass. Don't rush but be mindful of your time, you want to give yourself time to go back and answer any questions you skipped.

Sometimes young people blame themselves for pressures they are feeling, rather than seeing that they are caused by external forces. If your child is putting a lot of pressure on themselves, try talking to them about focussing on things they can control.

On Tuesday 5th December 2023, we held our annual Senior Citizen Party! 🎄
Around 100 members of our community were invited to join us for a fun filled afternoon of Christmas celebrations. This community event is run by Mrs Hogg and St Edmund's Catholic Academy Sixth Form students. We look forward to hosting this each year.
Members of the community were welcomed into school and spent the afternoon with Year 13 students, playing bingo and reindeer hoopla, eating and being served party food by Year 12, listening to a performance from St Edmund's school band and we even had a visit from Wolfie and Santa!
Lower School Prefects also ran a project for Year 7 students to write prayer cards which were included in the gift bags.
Thank you so much to our sponsors, Homesmart Blinds, Repose Specialist Seating Solutions and The School Psychology Service. Your generous donations were greatly appreciated.
Alongside our sponsors, we had a donation of christmas crackers and fundraising from B&M Bentley Bridge staff, Raffle prizes donated by St Edmund's staff, cakes made by Samantha Deakin and cakes and sausage rolls made by Ros Haines.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in the running of this annual event.
Y12 student, A***n, was recently selected to attend a Pathways to Property programme.
A***n had the following to say about the experience. 'For the past few years, I have been interested in property and real estate. I applied for the Reading University Pathway programme through a portal shared with me by Mrs Toor a few weeks ago. After a couple days, I received a response back asking me to submit a finalised form to where I was given a confirmed spot on the day.
The Pathways 2 Property insight day gave me a real understanding of the different routes I could take into property development. As well as that, I was fortunate enough to be given a guaranteed conditional offer to Reading University in Real Estate.
On the day I travelled to Sheffield on a train which is where the day was hosted by CMS who are a law firm which specialise in real estate. The day involved travelling to different construction sites and getting a deeper understanding into the work behind some of the biggest building projects in the heart of Sheffield and in the UK. Specifically, it involved understanding the roles involved and the small things which needed to be done to bring such a project to life.
In the afternoon, we were taken to a derelict building and told to take pictures and videos of the structure. Then, the organisers told us that we needed to come up with an idea of what we would do with the building itself. I decided that I would turn the space into a multi purpose hub with the intention of bringing the community together through a diversity of food and entertainment. As a result, the panel of judges who were industry professionals decided that I had the best idea.
Overall, it was a great chance to meet industry experts and see what it is like to work in the field.'
Well done to Fori and Daniel for being nominated to represent St Edmund's in Wolverhampton Youth Council!
At St Edmund's we love to showcase the amazing achievements of not just students, but staff too!
