✨Responding to Challenging Behaviour in the Moment: Practical Strategies for Difficult Situations ✨
When emotions are running high, children need calm, supportive adults to help guide them through difficult moments.
Staying calm, acknowledging feelings, keeping language simple and focusing on safety can all help children begin to regulate their emotions and feel understood.
Children learn emotional regulation over time through practice, support and positive relationships.

✨Supporting Positive Behaviour at Nursery✨
Positive behaviour support is about much more than managing difficult moments. It's about building relationships, creating a nurturing environment and helping children develop the skills they need to succeed.
At nursery, we use a range of approaches to support children's emotional development, confidence and independence while working closely with families every step of the way.
Strong partnerships help children receive consistent support wherever they are.

☀️ Summer days are on the way ☀️
The children enjoy our gardens in all weathers throughout the year, but there’s something especially uplifting about seeing them play outside in the summer breeze!
Whether they're riding bikes, exploring, creating, imagining or simply enjoying playtime with friends, our outdoor environments provide endless opportunities for children to learn, develop and thrive through play.
As the warmer months approach, we're looking forward to making even more memories outdoors and embracing all the adventures that summer brings.
What does your little one love most about being outside?

✨Understanding Why Challenging Behaviour Happens ✨
Behaviour is often the visible part of a much bigger picture.
Tiredness, hunger, big emotions, communication difficulties, sensory sensitivities and changes in routine can all influence how children behave. When we look beyond the behaviour itself, we can better understand what children may be experiencing.
Responding with patience, empathy and understanding helps children feel supported while they learn important emotional skills.
Have you ever noticed a particular trigger that affects your child's behaviour?

✨Recognising Challenging Behaviour ✨
Challenging behaviour can take many different forms, from tantrums and defiance to food refusal, sibling conflict and bedtime struggles.
Understanding what these behaviours look like is the first step towards identifying the reasons behind them and finding positive ways to respond.
Remember, behaviour is often a form of communication. When we understand the message behind it, we are better able to support children through it.
Which behaviours have you found most challenging during your child's early years?

✨Information Series: Understanding Challenging Behaviour ✨ In this first post of our next series, we're exploring why challenging behaviour happens and how working together can help children thrive.
Challenging behaviour can be one of the most difficult aspects of parenting and caring for young children, but it's important to remember that it is a normal part of development.
Children are still learning how to understand their emotions, communicate their needs and navigate the world around them. By looking beyond the behaviour itself, we can begin to understand what children may be trying to tell us.
What has helped you better understand your child's behaviour?
