Wolverhampton has an all-new Local Offer website, detailing information, services and resources available to support children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND).

The website has been created in partnership with children, young people and their families and includes:

- What to do if you're new to SEND
- Local support such as where you can find helpful advice, fun activities or services
- Educational settings in Wolverhampton or nearby such as early years, primary, secondary, sixth form, colleges, further education and higher education
- Travel assistance arrangements for children or young people attending schools, colleges or an early years setting
- How to get advice for young adults with SEND, like housing and employment support.

Over the past week, I have been gathering parental responses around the topic of special education needs (SEN) support for their children. So, the time has finally come to share with you something that I have been working on for a while. 🤩

Many of you may know I’ve been a teacher for some years now. An area of education which I am so passionate about is special educational needs. I love supporting children with additional needs and helping them grow into their extraordinary potential. I also take pride in empowering parents to champion their child’s educational rights and offer a helping hand through the world of SEN which can be baffling (and sometimes down right scary).

In light of this, I have created Robbins’ Nest which aims to support children with SEN and their families.

The idea is simple: education is power. We aim to support children to fulfil their unique potential through targeted, nurturing intervention. We strive to give parents a voice to champion and - where necessary- challenge their child’s education. Finally, we are determined to promote an inclusive culture within the community so that these amazing children grow up surrounded by a supportive society.
