🌟 Exciting News from Sedgwick College! 🌟

Today was a special day at Sedgwick College as we embraced "No Pens Day," an innovative event organised by Speech and Language UK. The day was marked by a fantastic collaboration with our friends from Green Park School, making the event even more memorable.

Our students showcased their creativity and communication skills in an extraordinary way. They engaged in a lively "show and tell" session, where they brought along their favourite cuddly toys, heartwarming pictures of their parents, and even a bike! It was a joy to see our students express themselves with such enthusiasm and confidence, speaking eagerly about their treasured items.

This unique day highlights the importance of verbal communication and interactive learning. It's amazing to see how much can be shared and learned without the need for pens and paper. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and made "No Pens Day" a great success!

Let's celebrate the wonderful experiences and learning opportunities our students had today. Feel free to share your thoughts or experiences from the day in the comments below! 🎉✨

Last week, our students turned into mini Alan Titchmarshes, diving into the world of gardening with enthusiasm and skill. They got their hands dirty separating and replanting succulents, showing off their growing green thumbs! 🌵👩‍🌾👨‍🌾

This week, we're keeping the momentum going with even more plants to nurture and grow. It's amazing to see our students connect with nature and learn valuable skills in plant care. Stay tuned for more updates from our little gardeners as they continue to cultivate their botanical talents! 🍃💚

🌹🕊️ This Remembrance Sunday, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness have shaped our nation's history and secured our future.

As we wear our poppies with pride, let us reflect on the values of freedom, peace, and resilience that they fought to uphold. We owe them a debt of gratitude that we can never fully repay, but we can remember them, not just today but every day.

Lest we forget.

If you booked on with us for the Opera event this weekend, could you please check your emails today. There is information waiting there for you.
Thank you 😊

I am writing to you with the unfortunate news that we have sadly had to cancel Saturdays’ Opera afternoon with us here at Sedgwick College. Due to events licensing for live events not being approved for us on this occasion, we are in the first instance letting you know that your tickets will be fully refunded within the next 4-5 days, and you will of course be the first to know when we re-schedule for September.
I personally could not wait to meet so many of you this Saturday as this would have been my first large scale event and I wanted to be able to put faces to names. It was also going to be my chance to formally introduce myself as the new Centre Manager for Sedgwick having started in the role after Easter. For those of you who I have had the pleasure of meeting already when you have kindly attended our other events this term, I am disappointed I will have to wait now for September until I get to see you all again.

Can I please take this opportunity to whole heartedly thank you for your kindness, patience and ongoing support with all things Sedgwick College. It truly is full of the most amazing young people who I have the true privilege of working with daily.

I hope you can accept my sincere apologies but we will be back bigger and better in September I promise!!
Look out on our events page as we will be posting all of the dates and exciting things we have planned for next term, very soon!

Thanking you all in advance and we will be in touch with regards to your refunds.
Have a lovely weekend and we hope to see you all very soon.
