Staff from Wombourne Community Nursery & Codsall Community Nursery attended 4 hours of Safeguarding training today.

A huge thank you to our lovely Stacy Mann for delivering the training. 💛

It was such a valuable refresher and a great opportunity to reflect on our practice, refresh our knowledge and remind ourselves just how important our role is in keeping children safe.

Safeguarding training isn’t just a box to tick - it’s about keeping our knowledge sharp so we can recognise, respond and protect when it matters most. 🌟

🥣🌾 Oat Play in the Baby Room! 🌾🥣

Our babies had lots of fun exploring oats through sensory play! They enjoyed scooping, filling and emptying, using diggers and exploring the different textures and movements. 🚜✨

These simple experiences support little ones as they develop their hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills and understanding of cause and effect, all while having lots of fun!

🌿 Geoffrey’s Expectation – My World:
Our babies are encouraged to explore and investigate using natural resources, building curiosity and developing an awareness of the world around them. 💛

It was wonderful to see their little faces as they discovered, experimented and enjoyed learning through play! 🥰

💌 Little pictures, big kindness 💌

Our children have been getting involved in the wonderful Note from a Neighbour project, created by our friends at Brightside Psychology.
The project is bringing the Codsall community together through anonymous notes of encouragement and kindness, which will be shared with local people who may be going through a difficult time.
As our nursery is also based here in the Communty Hub, we wanted our children to be part of it too. ❤️

The children created their own colourful pictures to accompany the notes, talking about kindness, helping other people and how something small can make somebody smile, before taking their artwork along and posting it into the special collection box themselves.

We absolutely love opportunities like this. Our children aren't just learning about their community; they're learning that they are an important part of it and can make a difference within it. 🥰

Somewhere in Codsall, somebody having a difficult day may soon open a note and find one of our children's little works of art alongside it, and we think that's rather special. 💌

🍂 Exploring Our Community! 🌿

Our toddlers and pre-school children have recently enjoyed getting out and about around our nursery, exploring the community area and discovering the changes happening in nature. 🍁

The children went on a leaf-picking adventure, collecting different leaves and talking about the colours they could see. They explored how the leaves felt — were they soft, smooth, crunchy or dry? 🍂

This provided a wonderful opportunity to talk about the different seasons and how nature changes throughout the year. We discussed how leaves change colour and eventually fall from the trees as the seasons change. 🌳🍁

🌟 Geoffrey’s Expectations – My World

This experience supported the children in developing their understanding of the world around them, encouraging them to notice changes in their environment, talk about what they see and explore the natural world through hands-on experiences.

We love giving our children opportunities to learn through curiosity, exploration and real-life experiences! ❤️🍂

🍅 From our garden to snack time! 🌱

Today, the children enjoyed some delicious tomatoes for snack that were grown right here in our nursery garden! 🥰

Our toddlers and pre-school children have been busy helping to care for the plants — watering them, watching them grow and learning about where our food comes from. 🌿

It was so lovely to see the children enjoying the fruits of their hard work and proudly tasting something they had helped to grow themselves! ❤️

From planting the seeds to enjoying them at snack time — what a wonderful learning journey! 🍅🌱

We have some lovely news to share! 🥰

Our owner, Kelly, has been named Influential Woman in Business: Early Years Education & Workforce Impact 2026 by Innervision Global. ❤️

Kelly began her career as a nursery nurse, and although her work has grown enormously since then, supporting thousands of early years professionals across the UK, she has never lost sight of why she started..... to provide the best start for children.

A belief that the experiences children have in their earliest years really do matter, and that by investing in the people who care for and educate them, we can make a difference that lasts far beyond nursery.

That same belief is at the heart of everything we do here at Codsall Community Nursery and our sister nursery Wombourne Community Nursery

Kelly is incredibly proud of our nursery teams, the relationships we build with our families and, most importantly, the wonderful little people we have the privilege of watching learn and grow every day.

We know Kelly isn't particularly good at stopping to celebrate herself 😂 so we're doing it for her!
