Our Confirmandi attended a meeting after Mass this morning as an important part of their preparation. Miss Higgins and Mrs Byrne were delighted with their understanding and enthusiasm.
Can your child rehearse a poem over half term to get involved in the poetry recital on Friday 4th March?
Mrs Walker has chosen a poem for each phase to read, enjoy and rehearse. These can be seen on Dojo.
Here's a couple of them for you to enjoy.
The DFE Review into the teaching of reading says:
“Through enjoying rhymes, poems and songs, and reciting poems or parts of longer poems together can build children’s strong emotional connection to language. Each repetition strengthens their vocabulary, embedding new words. As each word is acquired, it moves from the barest familiarity to an in-depth knowledge of that word."
No better way to to promote the new Monday Club after half term than by demonstrating the high standard that can be achieved. Well done boys, thank you for sharing g your success with us all in Praise Assembly 👏👏
School Council have had a busy week raising funds to support Random Acts of Kindness within our school and community. School Council wanted to thank our wonderful Lunchtime Staff, our Crossing Patrol Warden and Mrs Byrne for all they do for the children at our school.#Randomactsofkindnessday

It is our Geography week in school! Ensure you ask your children about what they have been learning or ask about their knowledge organisers 😀! 🌍
On Monday, the School Council Leaders are raising funds by holding a Valentine Bake Sale. All funds raised will be used to deliver Random Acts of Kindness Gifts to people within our community during the week. Cakes and biscuits will be available to buy - please send your child with some money so they support our fundraising efforts.
We need binoculars, wooden spoons, guttering, pavers & cable reels. Please share and inbox if you can help 😊

Great way to end a brilliant term in school. Thank you to all of our families and to the wider community who support a dedicated team of staff in the work we do. Happy holidays, looking forward to what we can achieve next term together 😊

👏👏👏 Huge congratulations SS Peter and Paul Catholic Primary Academy which has been named School of the Year at the Your UK Parliament Awards after launching a campaign to get defibrillators into all schools in the city.

Pupils at the Whitmore Reans school have been raising awareness of the importance of defibrillators since the collapse of Danish footballer Christian Eriksen at the European Championships last summer.

Pupils started a campaign to get a defibrillator for their school, and to champion the installation of defibrillators in other local schools. They have been fundraising and pupils, parents and staff have also had lifesaving CPR and defibrillator training.

Brenda Wile, the council's Deputy Director of Education, said: "SS Peter and Paul Catholic Primary Academy fully deserves the accolade of School of the Year – their campaign is an incredibly important one and it's great to see that it will benefit other schools in our city, too.

"To help someone who is in cardiac arrest effectively, a defibrillator needs to be found as quickly as possible. That's why it is crucial that they are widely available – and easily accessible – right across Wolverhampton, and that includes in locations like our schools."

SS Peter and Paul has just picked up the National Parliament Award for School of the Year at the Houses of Parliament!

No greater timing than on the day Cristian Eriksen Captain’s his team at the very same pitch a defibrillator saved his life. His collapse at the Euro’s prompted a former pupil to rally year 6 to launch the campaign. The project now belongs to the whole school - with pupils, parents and staff coming together in award winning ways for our great city ⭐️

We look forward to working with the Oliver King Foundation ⭐️
