We are looking for Nursery Practitioners at Toad Hall Nursery in Wokingham.
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will work as a valued member of the nursery team, showing initiative and creativity, taking responsibility for the safety, security and well-being of all children in your care.
You'll nurture an environment in which the children are encouraged in their all-round development and where high standards of care are provided.
Main Responsibilities:
1. To be a team player, working cooperatively and with flexibility.
2. To observe each child’s progress and report on achievements, looking for progression and continuity. To take on a lead role as a key person for a small group of children on a daily basis.
3. To communicate clearly with parents/carers, encouraging them to participate in their child’s learning and development.
4. To supervise children at play (indoor/outdoor), at meal times and during sleep times.
5. To undertake children’s daily personal care routines.
6. To take a lead role in the planning of learning experiences for children within your key group, to ensure the Early Years Foundation Stage is effectively implemented.
7. To assist in the creation and maintenance of a stimulating and attractive base room environment.
8. To attend parents’ meetings, be involved in fundraising events and assist with the promotion of the nursery, as required.
9. To assist with the care, maintenance and security of all equipment and toys within the nursery.
10. To attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
11. To participate in all self-development activities, including appraisals, supervisions etc.
12. To develop positive relationships with other staff working within the nursery.
13. To maintain a high standard for health, safety and cleanliness throughout the nursery at all times.
14. To ensure the general cleanliness of the children at all times.
15. To be familiar with all emergency and security procedures e.g. Fire procedures.
16. To adhere to all Company policies and procedures including attendance at meetings, preparation of reports and any other duties as required.
17. To ensure the Company’s equality and diversity policy is adhered to at all times.
Before applying, please note - the below is essential:
- NVQ Level 3 Childcare, learning and development or equivalent
- Previous experience of working within a nursery setting
- Previous childcare experience with the age range of 3 months to 5 years.
