… for the Saturday Night Social at Ludgrove. The boys are waiting to greet their guests arriving from Downe House for supper and then something completely new for them - line dancing! It’s fair to say the boys are a bit nervous about a kick ball change (and that’s not a move from the football pitch) but they are sure to ‘find their feet’ once they give it a go. The VIs (Year 4) took a trip back to the Middle Ages when they visited Windsor Castle for an immersive History trip. The boys loved dressing up to learn about the feudal system and then stepped into British history when they toured the Castle and St George’s Chapel. What lucky boys to take a peek at the past in one of the country’s most famous landmarks.

Doing the right thing when no one is looking. Mr Wilson explained why this week’s winner of the GRIT (goodwill, resilience, integrity and tenacity) Award was nominated by Matrons. Ola showed great integrity for no personal reward other than to encourage others to ‘do the right thing’. What a great example of a Ludgrove boy and a responsible School citizen. 👏

Wisdom, patience and strength. On World Teachers’ Day, Captain of School, Seb, thanked teachers everywhere for these, and their many other important qualities.

At Ludgrove our teachers are involved with the boys’ lives in a myriad of ways outside of the classroom. They live alongside the boys, eat their meals with them, share evenings and weekends, celebrate their triumphs and help them navigate the hard times. They are not only academic teachers, but teachers of life skills to become valuable members of the School and beyond.

Thank you to our wonderful Common Room - “bless them with renewed energy, joy in their calling, and confidence that their labour is never in vain”. 🙏

Teams succeed when all the players work together as one unit, and that’s what was in evidence in abundance in Wednesday’s matches. Unselfish play, communication and a desire to ‘have a go’ produced some fantastic results in the fixture with our friends from Hall Grove. We were particularly proud of the displays of sportsmanship and fair play that were in evidence on the pitch. Thank you everyone for the fantastic support from the sidelines for ALL the teams.
