🎟️💙 A HUGE thank you to our amazing raffle prize donors! 💙🎟️

One of the best parts of our Summer Fun Day raffle was seeing just how many wonderful prizes had been donated for us to give away and we are so incredibly grateful!

From fabulous experiences and days out to delicious treats, wonderful gifts and generous vouchers, our prize table was packed with things to get excited about! 🎉

🌟 Say hello to Lisa! 🌟

Lisa is mum Sarah’s best friend and has known her since they were at school together. She has been part of Ollie’s life since before he was even born! She’s been there for every life event, and even now, she continues to celebrate his birthday alongside Sarah. It’s an honour and a privilege for her to share those birthdays with Sarah, and it’s something she’ll always treasure.

Lisa has been an active committee member since the foundation was created, and when it comes to Fun Day, you’ll usually find Lisa exactly where she’s needed: sleeves rolled up, a smile on her face and keeping everyone well fed at the BBQ! 🍔🔥

We’re so lucky to have Lisa as part of the team - and let’s face it, we’re pretty sure the BBQ wouldn’t run quite as smoothly without her!

💙 A little bit about Olliette Molly… 💙

Molly is Alfie’s girlfriend and has become such a valued part of the Ollie Young Foundation family. She’s one clever cookie too - working in an organic chemistry lab, where she tests water quality! And when she’s not working, you’ll usually find her at dance, in the gym or doing CrossFit. Luckily, that makes her a pretty good match for PT Alfie! 😂

The Foundation means a huge amount to Molly, and not just because she’s with Alfie. Her own aunt sadly passed away from a glioblastoma brain tumour, giving Molly a very personal connection to the cause. Although she never had the chance to know Ollie personally, she understands all too well the impact that brain cancer can have on families.

As part of her fitness, she’s run three laps of Ascot Racecourse in memory of both Ollie and her aunt. 💙🏃‍♀️

And then there’s Molly’s other passion… Star Wars! ⭐️ So you can imagine the excitement when she came face-to-face with the Stormtroopers at our 2023 event! 😂

If you’ve been to our football tournament, you’ll know Molly is the woman who somehow keeps everything under control! 😂 She’s our tournament chief - organising the referees, keeping track of the results and making sure every team knows where they need to be. Basically, if you’re playing football, Molly probably knows where you’re supposed to be before you do! ⚽️😂

She’s also always on hand at Summer Fun Day, usually with a huge smile on her face and ready to muck in wherever she’s needed. She’s one of those people who never needs asking twice - she just gets stuck in.

We’re incredibly lucky to have her as one of our Olliettes. She brings energy, enthusiasm and a very personal connection to what we’re trying to achieve - and we’re pretty sure Ollie would agree that Alfie has done alright for himself too! 💙

💙 Friends… they’re pretty important! 💙

When you’re trying to do something as big as we are, having good friends around you makes all the difference.

Friends who will take on challenges that are probably a little bit (or a lot!) beyond sensible. Friends who will turn up, get stuck in, pull ridiculous faces for the camera and generally make sure there’s never a dull moment. 😂 And then there are the friends who will happily get involved in whatever madness we’ve come up with - including being arrested by Darth Vader and his Stormtroopers without putting up too much of a fight! 😂⭐️

Over the years, our friends have run, walked, cycled, baked, volunteered, dressed up, got soaked, stayed up late, got up ridiculously early and taken on all sorts of challenges - all in the name of helping us fight brain cancer and find a cure.

But more than anything, they’ve been there, and that’s what makes friends so important! You don’t need to have all the answers or know exactly what to say. Sometimes you just need to turn up, get involved and have a laugh along the way.

So here’s to the friends who make the hard days easier, the crazy ideas possible and the good days even more fun. 💙

💙 One summer day. One incredible community. One very important reason.

We created the Summer Fun Day to bring people together, have some fun and raise money in memory of Ollie.

There was games, food, music, stalls, classic cars, circus skills, raffles, ice creams, laughter and plenty of happy faces. But behind all of that was something much bigger.

Every ticket bought, every token spent and every donation made is helping us fund research into paediatric brain tumours – research that we hope will one day give children facing a brain tumour a better chance, better treatments and better outcomes.

And at the heart of everything we do is Ollie. 💙

Ollie was a real cheeky chap, a much-loved son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend. He should have had a lifetime of adventures ahead of him. Instead, a glioblastoma inside Ollies brain.

We can't change what happened to Ollie, but we can make sure his life continues to mean something.

We can remember him.
We can talk about him.
We can bring people together in his name – and this is certainly what the summer fun day is for!
And, we can help fund research so that, one day, other families might not have to face the same journey.

And together, you helped us raise over £9K! 🎉
