I offer fun and flexible childcare from birth upwards. This page shows activities I plan to help the children in my care grow and learn holistically.

I offer fun and flexible childcare within a home from home setting in a spacious home set in Finchampstead, Berkshire

I currently have vacancies for children under the age of 5, and school aged children during school holidays. Offering school drop off and collection from local pre-schools as well as before & after school cover for Gorse Ride School. Fully qualified , First Aid trained, DBS check completed and Ofsted Registered. Please contact me for more information.

Over the last few weeks we have had great fun with our friends at Mad Hatter Childcare. The change in weather has meant we have been able to enjoy water play in the garden , play with shadows & this has also meant that our plants and potatoes have needed alot more water.
We also welcomed our new little one for some settling in sessions 🥰

On the 18th February I was inspected by OFSTED under the new “report card” system.
Whilst I have not received my definitive report as yet, I thought I would explain for parents what the new grading means: ( this can also be found on the OFSTED website)

What the new Ofsted grades tell you

The ‘expected standard’ is just that – it means the school or other provider is doing everything that it should be doing, so you’ll see the green colour coding on the report card. It’s a high standard, to make sure your children are receiving everything they need and deserve.

Moving up the scale, ‘strong standard’ marks out excellent, consistent work that’s making a real difference for children and learners.

And finally, there’s ‘exceptional’. We only award this grade when we see practice that is among the very best nationally, which should be shared with other schools or providers to help them improve. This means to receive this grade you need to be transformative in other settings, the local area or nationwide.

‘Needs attention’ is an indication that there is work to be done to reach the ‘expected standard’. It’s not a ‘fail’ but it highlights where issues can be addressed before they become bigger problems that need ‘urgent improvement’.

You may see a mix of grades across a report card: it’s perfectly possible to achieve highly in some areas, and require a little more focus in others.

In report cards, alongside the grades, you’ll see detailed descriptions of what inspectors found. This will help you understand why they have awarded different grades, and what it’s like to be a child or learner at that childminder, nursery, school or further education provider.

On Thursday the children of A Real Madhouse and Mad Hatter Childcare planted their Spring onions and chose potatoes at the garden centre. We then put them in an egg box on the window sill for chitting. We also bought some lovely small watering cans to make sure our veggies will be well hydrated ☺️

Today the children made their own pizzas . Spreading the tomato puree , cutting the tomatoes and pepper , adding it to their pitta and covering with grated cheese.

They look yummy. Good job guys 🥰

Looking forward to starting our Pot Gang journey with the littlies next week. Hoping to TRY to grow Gordon -The golden courgette , Hercule - The Honeycomb Tomato & Sid, Stig & Siv the Spring Onions!

Some of our lovely crafts and activities from January.
We completed our annual posters to compare to last years, covered our bird theme as part of the RSPB bird watch , made bonfire pictures for Lohri , dot art pictures for Australia Day and flowers ( after seeing the first crocuses appear)☺️

A quiet start to the week with our friends at Mad Hatter Childcare doing our annual All About Me posters , chatting about all the lovely new toys the children got from Santa , exploring snow and ice and getting back into a routine. 🥰
