Huge congratulations to Chloe Goodenough (Class of 2016) and Elliot, who tied the knot in early August after more than ten years together!

Their love story began at a party hosted by Chloe’s best friend, Lucy Jones, whom she met on her very first day at Luckley. It was wonderful to see Lucy and so many other Luckley friends from the Class of 2016 there to celebrate with them.

Wishing Chloe and Elliot a lifetime of love, laughter and happiness.

For whom did this bell toll? Cycling into Luckley this morning, I parked my bike behind the sheds and made a wonderful discovery: Luckley's old school bell. I am hoping we may be able to restore it to its former glory and situate it back near the main house. Does anyone know when this was last used and where it stood?

Speech Day was a wonderful occasion, marking the end of another successful year at Luckley. Our Chair of Governors, Mrs Claire Tao, reflected on Luckley's commitment to living out our motto, To Love and Serve, before guest speaker and Luckley alumna Camilla Potter (Class of 2011) shared her career journey and encouraged students to embrace change, step outside their comfort zones and say "yes" to new opportunities.

We were delighted to welcome back former Headmaster Richard Blake, who delivered the closing prayer, along with former Head Students Harriet Strong and Courtney Hall (Class of 2022). It was also lovely to see Camilla supported by her lifelong Luckley friend, Haravneet Jabble, and her mother.

The afternoon concluded with refreshments on the back lawn, where students, families, staff, governors and alumni came together in the sunshine to celebrate another memorable year.

A new ITV series, airing on Sky, is looking for people who have stayed with or married their childhood sweetheart to take part in a fascinating social experiment.

The series will explore what it means to have had just one significant romantic partner and how that experience may have shaped different aspects of life and relationships.

Filming will take place over a period of 100 days, with filming scheduled approximately once a week and arranged around participants' availability.

Meet Mya Indigo de Souza (pictured in yellow), a young entrepreneur building CoWork, a community designed to tackle loneliness among young adults and remote workers.

After years of working with start-ups and building businesses of her own, Mya launched CoWork from a simple Reddit post asking for company while working remotely in a London café. Today, the community has grown to over 120 members.

Mya is now looking for university student ambassadors to help organise meet-ups on and off campus. It’s a great way to meet people, build connections, and gain valuable experience for your CV.

On 10 May 2018, Luckley held its first production in one of the school’s most remarkable spaces, The Whitty Theatre.

Designed by the award-winning van Heyningen and Haward Architects, the stand-alone 176-seat professional theatre has inspired pupils and entertained the wider community since opening in 2016. From school rehearsals, productions and public speaking to performances by theatre companies, dance groups, musicians and film club, The Whitty Theatre has become a vibrant cultural hub for Wokingham and beyond.

As we mark almost ten years of professional theatre at Luckley, we are incredibly grateful for this exceptional building and the opportunities it continues to provide for creativity, confidence and talent to flourish.

This staff photo was taken between 1979 and 1984, during Mrs Wyn Cornish’s years as Headmistress. Many former pupils will remember not only their teachers, but also the major changes made to the school during that time; a modern new Science Block, new Computer Studies and Commerce departments, and a Sports Hall that was the envy of many larger schools.

These were memorable years filled with friendships, school traditions and unmistakable 70s and 80s hairstyles.

Happy Friday all.
