On Monday morning, we had a lovely visit from our Year 6 friends, who came to Nursery 3 to share some stories they had written about the chicks that recently hatched at Waverley. 🐥📖

Our nursery children really enjoyed listening to the stories and were excited to connect them to their own experience of watching the chicks hatch and grow. 🐣 It was wonderful to see the older pupils sharing their writing and spending time with the younger children.

⏱️ The countdown is on… ⏱️

There’s just over two weeks to go until World Book Day 2026! 🥳

On Thursday 5th March, we will be celebrating in true fairy tale style! Waverley will be filled with princesses, superheroes, wizards and magical creatures as children come to nursery dressed as their favourite book characters. 📖 🧙🏻 🏰 🧚

With half term here, now is the perfect time to start planning costumes. Children are welcome to dress as any book character they love and often simple ideas tell the best stories.

We can’t wait to celebrate this magical day together! 🙌

Recently, the children in Foundation have been learning all about Space. 🚀 🪐 From rockets and astronauts, to the sky above us, they have all shown a lot of interest in their new topic. Last week, Miss Norris brought in her telescope to help the children see further into the distance and understand just how far away space is. 🔭 😄

The children had great fun and are now very excited to learn more about space over the coming weeks, including watching the Artemis II mission as it (hopefully) heads around the moon later this week! 🌙 🚀
