Playtimes at Sythwood have been extra special lately!
Children have been enjoying the track, climbing frames, gym equipment and having fun with activities like Giant Dobble! Our Green Guardians have been very busy tending to the plants too. It’s been wonderful to see friendships growing alongside all the smiles and laughter.

🌟 Sythwood is now an official Junior Parkrun School! 🌟
On Sunday 25th January, Sythwood Primary and Nursery School officially became a WokingJunior Parkrun School. It was a wonderful community event, and so lovely to see so many children taking part with their parents, carers, and staff with their families.
A huge thank you to Miss Walker for organising and championing this fantastic initiative! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💙
Don’t forget — 9am every Sunday at Woking Park. We’d love to see even more families joining in each week!

✨ World Book Day at Sythwood✨
We had a wonderful day celebrating our love of reading across the whole school. All of the children and staff dressed up and there was a wonderful positive 'buzz' in the air all day!
📚 Assembly:
Y1-Y6 children attended special World Book Day assemblies where we spoke about the origin of World Book Day and focused on the benefits of reading on our lives.
👗 KS1 Costume Fashion Show:
KS1 stole the spotlight with their fantastic costume fashion show! The children proudly walked the “runway,” showing off amazing outfits and enjoyed big cheers from their friends.
🎭 The Masked Reader:
Throughout the day, all children joined in with our very own 'Masked Reader' challenge, guessing which grown‑ups were reading behind the masks. There was so much laughter, mystery, and excitement!
🎟️ Book Tokens for Every Child:
Every child went home with their World Book Day book token to help them choose a new story to enjoy.
🎉 Fun Reading Activities:
Classes took part in a variety of creative, book‑themed activities.
It was a brilliant celebration of imagination, creativity, and the joy that books bring to our school community. Thank you to all families, children, and staff for making it such a memorable day! 📖💛

☀️ What a fantastic way to end the term at our Summer Fair! 🎉

There was something for everyone, from delicious food and fun games to the ever-popular chance to soak the teacher! 💦

A huge thank you to FoSS and all the staff and volunteers who helped make the event such a success. We couldn't have done it without you! 💙

One of the many highlights of the summer term was Year 4's Film Night. The children worked together in team games, enjoyed milk and cookies, and finished the evening watching a film in their pyjamas. A perfect opportunity to have fun, build friendships and create lasting memories.

🎨💦 Nursery has had a wonderfully messy week! 💦🎨
Our children have loved exploring through painting, water play and lots of hands-on learning. There have been colourful creations, happy smiles and plenty of opportunities to investigate, imagine and have fun with friends.

Messy? Absolutely! Fun? Definitely! And exactly how Nursery should be. 😊

🌿🐞 Reception had a fantastic time at Nower Wood! 🐸🌳
Our young explorers enjoyed a day full of discovery as they hunted for minibeasts, pretended to be woodlice, took part in a sensory woodland walk, and went pond dipping.
They were amazed by the variety of creatures they found and loved sharing the knowledge they have been learning at school. The children were especially proud to show off their understanding by singing our fabulous Invertebrate Song! 🎶🕷️🐌
A wonderful day of outdoor learning, curiosity and adventure. Well done, Reception! 🌟
