🫶🏽 little voices, big messages 🫶🏽

The other day, we overheard one of our children having a conversation about how everyone is different:

“All people are different, and teachers too. Some teachers have brown skin, some teachers have black skin and some have white skin… but that’s okay.” - child in our owls room, aged 3🥹

Such a simple little conversation, but such an important one. 🌍

It’s moments like these that remind us just how much children notice, learn and absorb from the world around them and how naturally they can understand that our differences are simply part of what makes us who we are.

The butterflies had a wonderful time acting out the song "5 little speckled frogs", they made a lovely effort to join in by singing along, and their enthusiasm shone through as they jumped the frogs into the pool.

The children’s excitement and willingness to participate added to the enjoyment they all experienced and they now continue to ask for the song when singing!

Laura is always going above and beyond to support our team and help create such a positive and rewarding environment for everyone. 💕 She recently planned and hosted a fantastic team building day at her home, welcoming the team with open arms and putting so much thought into everything — from the games and drinks to the decorations! 🥂✨

Butterflies engaged in a hands-on experience as we harvested some delicious beetroots.

The children enthusiastically picked the beetroots straight from the ground, getting their hands a little dirty—a truly exciting part of the process!
After picking, they carefully washed the beetroots to ensure they were clean and ready for our next exciting step.
Using safety knives, the children then cut the beetroots into pieces which we later transformed into stamps for a fun art activity where they made marks on the paper with them in paint.

During this experience, we had conversations with the children about colours, textures, and all the amazing things we can do with these nutritious vegetables. It was a fantastic morning filled with laughter, learning, and creativity! We also added the leaves to the mud kitchen for the children to explore.

Congratulations to Prem, Helen and the team for maintaining our 5⭐️ in our food and hygiene inspection!

🏖️One of our amazing Owls went to Durdle Door and was shocked by the amount of litter left on the beach this visit. He was upset and couldn’t understand why people would leave rubish behind?

Instead of just complaining, he decided to take action. The family spent their visit picking up litter together, turning our day out into a cleanup mission. His parents said that 'it was a proud moment seeing him make a real difference, proving that even a small child can lead by example.'♻️

At Nursery we read stories and create activities to support children's learning of how important it is to clean up and recycle so it is lovely to see that children have learnt the importance of this and are leading the way at home too! 🗑️😃

Growing fruit and vegetables helps children to learn where food comes from. The children develop responsibility by caring for living things and discover the importance of nature and wildlife. 🌿🌻
