Yesterday we hosted our Moving Up Morning! All our new classes spent time together with their new teacher, and their new friends who will join them in September. Parents were invited in for coffee to get to know the class reps and other families, and our FroGS committee hosted a Second-Hand uniform sale to help our new joiners prepare for September. ๐ Wishing a big Greenfield welcome to everyone joining us after the holidays!
Taking a trip down memory lane! ๐ Recently we have enjoyed reconnecting with a few past pupils at Greenfield - Jack (class of 2017) is about to enter Year 13 and enjoyed spending time at his old school for work experience. Zac and Alex (class of 2018) have just finished their GCSEs at the RGS and visited us to speak about their Senior School experiences with Year 5 - the application process, achieving scholarships and what Senior School is really like. We were very proud to hear about the success of our alumni at their Senior Schools and hope to continue to strengthen our rich and varied alumni community.

With more activities than ever before, Sports Day 2023 was one to remember! ๐
What a day! Thank you to everyone who joined us and cheered on the children competing in this year's Sports Day. Despite the odd passing shower, the children gave it their all today and threw themselves into their sprints and the challenging carousel of activities around the track. Congratulations to our four Year 5 girls who triumphed at Priorโs Field Future Female Engineers STEM day this week ๐ The team took part in a range of Maths, DT and Science challenges, including building a car to protect an egg going down a ramp, making "earthquake-proof" structures, and taking on a series of tricky algebra problems. We are proud to say that our team were the overall champions and they very much look forward to building their robot prize ๐๐ค Thank you Prior's Field School for hosting such a fun and inspiring day!
Thank you to the Year 9 and 10 pupils at Epsom College and Chertsey High School who joined us yesterday for our Digital Ambassadors Day. After participating in a digital safety workshop, where they considered the most prevalent online dangers from their own experiences, the young motivators presented their learnings to Greenfield Middle School children. Covering topics such as fake news, catfishing, identity theft, body image and more, the older children worked with their younger peers to come up with a set of rules that all children can follow to stay safe online.
Well done to everyone who came, for inspiring the children to stay vigilant and demonstrating how they can be accountable for their online behaviour.
We are so excited to welcome lots of new families to Greenfield in September! ๐Over the coming weeks, our new starters will receive their welcome packs which include a personalised postcard written by one of our Year 6 children - swipe through the photos to read a few ๐ Thank you to Mills & Belles for handcrafting such lovely Greenfield treats to top off each welcome pack.

Greenfield School is a preparatory school for boys and girls aged rising 3 to 11. The School has never selected pupils based on academic ability, sporting prowess or musical talent and it is the only Woking Prep School that has always been co-educational. That said, the achievements of Greenfield pupils continue to impress and the results for 11+ are exceptional.
This belief that all children deserve access to the same excellent teaching, social circles and extra-curricular opportunities forms the backbone of the Schoolโs ethos.
The School has a long-standing history within Woking and has links to the Ockenden Venture, a charity supporting refugees and displaced persons. This fascinating history is something we are proud of and the names of the four houses reflect the original owners of the properties bequeathed to the school - Ruth Hicks, Joyce Pearce, Henry Quartermaine and Thomas Jefferies.
At Greenfield, we believe that a preparatory school should do just that - prepare children for the world beyond the classroom. The skills required in the workplace are unrecognisable from those needed fifteen or even ten years ago, and so we endeavour to equip our pupils with the self-belief, dexterity and problem-solving skills that will benefit them in the years to come.
