Alex's Busy Kids, childminding in Knaphill, Woking

Hi, my name is Alex and I live with my husband, 18 month old son and 2 cats, that my son adores, but they're not so keen and prefer to sleep upstairs in peace! We live in a spacious house in Knaphill with a large enclosed back garden. We are down a quiet road but still within walking distance of local shops, playgrounds, Brookwood County Park, the duck pond and canal and various playgroups and toddler groups that we enjoy walking to each day, and are just 1 mile from Brookwood station so ideally placed for London commuters. I have lots of experience in childcare from raising my own little boy, and looking after friend's babies and children from time to time, and have recently registered as a childminder having completed the ChIldminding Introduction Programme and Safeguarding Children course with Surrey County Council and a 12 hour paediatric First Aid course. Before childminding I worked in Cardiovascular Research at St Thomas's Hospital in London. However, commuting to London did not fit in with raising my young family, and I love looking after my son, planning activities and taking him to toddler groups and playgroups, hence the career change! I have several years experience of teaching dancing to children aged 3-15 years, but had to stop when I took my job in London due to time constraints, and I always hoped one day to be able to go back to working with and teaching children in the future. I like to get out and about each day and go to various playgroups and toddler groups, rhyme time at Knaphill library, and to softplay centres, and am happy to do drop offs and pickups from Knaphill nursery, Lower School and Junior School, all of which we are a short walk away from.. I have a full clean driving license so also enjoy taking the children to places like Wisley Gardens, Alice Holt and farms, but we prefer to walk to local toddler groups when possible. I provide a home-from-home childcare setting, and am a fun, friendly, engaging, and professional childminder and I am committed to raising the children I care for in a caring, nurturing and happy environment where they can play, learn and develop as individuals.
