Did you know vapes have batteries hidden within them? When vapes are incorrectly disposed of, they can get crushed in bin lorries and at waste facilities, sparking lethal fires.

You can recycle your vapes by taking them to a local community recycling centre, a local shop, or in some areas of Surrey, residents can recycle vapes in their small electricals kerbside collection.

Come along to a talk from Surrey Wildlife Trust on Thursday 22 October here at Redhill Library. Learn more about the issues affecting nature. Find out what the Trust are doing to restore, protect and connect wildlife in Surrey, and how you can get involved!

We don't take bookings, so please arrive early to secure your place.

Don’t let your old vacuum cleaner battery become a fire risk 🔥

Many cordless vacuum cleaners are powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. If these batteries are thrown in the bin, they can be crushed in bin lorries or at waste facilities, causing lethal fires.

If you’re replacing your vacuum or its battery, recycle them safely at a local community recycling centre, a participating retailer recycling scheme or check if your local council provides a small electricals collection.
