Foot imbalance affects everything....
Optimal leg muscle activity is one of the essential factors in maintaining body stability.
The supinated foot - The position of the feet changes towards pronation, with changes in the shape of the feet that will affect the muscles in the knee and leg areas. The intrinsic muscles and extrinsic muscles of the feet work harder and together to maintain posture stability. Posture changes in flat foot conditions can cause problems related to changes in muscle activity, such as stiffness of the lower leg muscles or weakness of the leg muscles.
The pronated foot - The ankle rolls too far downward and inward with each step. It continues to roll when the toes should be starting to push off. As a result, the big toe and second toe do all of the push-off, and the foot twists more with each step. This foot can no longer provide adequate shock absorption, stability, or propulsion and can cause ligament and muscle-generated pain throughout the entire body.
Foot posture can affect the alignment of your lower limbs because your feet guide the movement of your whole body. Common injuries include ankle, knee stress, and hip and back pain. When your feet aren’t properly aligned with the rest of your body, it’s easy to see that this can also throw your overall balance off. This makes you more prone to injury. So it is important to promote good foot posture to prevent injuries to the ankle, knee, hip, and lower back injuries.
You can prevent overpronation and supination by improving foot proprioception. Therapeutic Insoles are an excellent way to counter the harmful effects of poor foot posture.
