Saw this and instantly thought of you all 🥰

Teachers, TA’s, support staff, you are all doing an amazing job, thank you ❤️
Are there any clubs being run after school?

Evening everyone. I have posted loads of school clothes, coats and shoes on the preloved uniform page... All basically new or hardly worn.

Yesterday, Key Stage 2 thoroughly enjoyed their time with author Mel Taylor-Bessent. Mel gave a wonderful assembly and then personally dedicated and signed books to the children, giving them the opportunity to purchase The Christmas Competition which isn't even out in book shops yet. Mel kindly donated books to school too which was an amazing gesture!
Thank you to Mel and to Miss Taylor for organising the event.

It was Eagles (Yr6) turn for Forest Friday last week. They all enjoyed team building, making nettle soup, snail racing and lots of mud! This was Mr Moore's first opportunity to take part in Forest Friday and it is fair to say he LOVED it and could really see how it benefits all of our children (and staff!). 😊

We are lucky enough to have local and best-selling author Mel Taylor-Bessent visit Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 next Friday! She is the author of the best-seller 'The Christmas Carrolls', and is ready to share the sequel, 'The Christmas Competition' with Bisley children, as well as answer any questions they have about her writing process, becoming an author and finding ideas for a book. Bisley children can purchase Mel's books on Friday 30th (before they're even in bookshops!) and will be able to meet her in Falcons Class straight after the assembly - where they can have their book personally dedicated and signed by her. Here is Mel's video that the children watched in assembly on Friday.

Week 3 this week

Open The Book

Each Monday morning we have a whole school assembly delivered by our amazing Open the Book team and they are looking for some new recruits. For those of you who don’t know, open the book is a scripted re-telling of stories from the bible - there are costumes, there are props and they involve the older children in the action too . Most importantly it is great fun to be a part of, the children love it and it gets the messages across.

****Would you like to join the team?****

The story is emailed out and parts allocated beforehand. You need to be familiar with the script, but not word perfect. The team organiser (Bronwen Hall) provides the costumes and props with some help from the team.

Open the book is run at both Bisley and Holy Trinity – the same team at each. The commitment on the day is to be at Bisley school by 8:40 am for a run through before a 9am assembly. Then go to Holy Trinity where they give you a coffee in the staff room prior to a 10am assembly there. All finished by 10:30am.

You do not need to commit to being available every week, but we ask volunteers to commit to at least once a month.

Please contact Bronwen Hall email – [email protected] if you want to help or would like to know more.

Today saw some of our older nursery children enjoying Forest School for the first time! As part of our offer, all children who are moving up to Reception the following year will now have a series of sessions at Forest School. The children loved it today (and we think Mrs Charters did too!). Thank you Mrs Stainfoth!

Forest School Friday was back with a bang today with Falcons Class. The Year 6 children enjoyed making 'leek, potato, onion and nettle soup' to wet their appetites before lunch, and after lunch they stewed apples and had s'mores by the fire. The children built dens, made friendship bracelets using the traditional Nordic weaving method, whittled, sawed, built fires and got very, very muddy! A few team building games also tested their communication and perseverance. A huge thank you to Mrs Stainforth, as always, for such a fun day out in the wilderness.

Following King Charles' announcement that the funeral will be held on Monday 19th September the DfE have now confirmed that schools should close.

Therefore, our school including Foxcubs Nursery will be closed to both pupils and staff on Monday 19th.

We spent time today reflecting on different aspects of the Queen to help us celebrate her life. We learnt so many amazing facts and all agreed she was a very special person with many amazing talents and was such an inspiration in so many ways.
The children had the opportunity through the day to contribute their own thoughts about the Queen.
