Silver meets salmon skin 🐟

This one of a kind jug by Alison combines photo-etched Britannia silver with real Alaska salmon skin - creating a piece that’s beautiful to display, and so unique.

The biggest challenge? Attaching the handle and spout without damaging the etched silver. The answer was riveting, with a little help from the workshop’s very own ‘Queen of Riveting’, Krista!

Alison then polished the piece to give it a slightly matte finish and burnished all edges of the silver.

A beautiful piece, and definitely a lesson in patience, problem-solving and amazing creativity 👏

Yesterday Ruby was roped into trimming the lavender outside. It has endured a hard summer and we have passed the 8 8 8 rule which is to cut the plant down 8 inches towards the base of the plant or 1/3 of the plants height, on the 8th day of the 8th month of the year. But we got round to it in the end. Only 10 days late! 🪻

Some of the Workshop 925 dogs did a meet this Sunday for their Sunday Farmers Market. Ronnie and Bilbo are both rescue dogs so they both did very well to meet and while surrounded by lots of yummy food. Ronnie is 5 years old and Bilbo is only a young pup still, he is doing so well adjusting to his lovely new home with Amy and Chris - he is one lucky boy. Pip, was alternately baking herself and then cooling off indoors, and has brought in hay to Krista's house ever since! 🤪🐶
