Our lovely Friday group have been together since the beginning, but lovely Linda is moving to Mondays and Tracy has headed into the lands of full time work. We had a little Friday treat to say goodbye (for now on Fridays at least) to our lovely Friday amigos. We will of course see them out of class. It lovely how term time groups become lovely friendships ❤️

This will give you some serious wax carving skills to be able to open up a whole new area of possibilities with your jewellery making. You can achieve shapes, textures, and designs which are not possible through other means. Wax carving and lost wax casting is a fascinating process. On this course you will design and make your own set of rings, this can be anything to your taste. 💥WAX CARVING MASTERCLASS💥 Stephen Barnett is running a 3 day wax carving course very soon, Day one Sat 29th Oct, Day 2 Sat 26th Nov and Day 3 Sat 3rd December. This is an excellent opportunity to try your hand at wax carving and pick up some fantastic technical skills. You will have free reign on your design. Stephen will share his vast experience and take you through the process of marking out your design, carving, how to prep it for casting, how and where to cast, through to the stages of dealing of cleaning it up post casting and setting your stone. This is a must for anyone interested in wax carving. Some making experience is an advance but not necessary.

We have 2 Gemmology courses this Autumn with the fantastic Stuart Pool from Nineteen 48. If you work with gemstones, this is an absolute MUST. Customers are more than ever aware of the ethics of the products they purchase and there is a drive towards more ethical jewellery practices within the industry. These two courses are both introductions to gemmology for those who work with gemstones but do not know about grading, factors which might affect the price of a stone, gemstone properties, gem identification, mining and traceability as well as much more. You will also receive a gemstone reference book RRP £10 included in the price of your course.

This absolute masterpiece is by Rhian Browning, one of Krista's amazing students.
Rhian created this HIR Beach Sprints Trophy (it is the first if its kind) just before summer during her term time classes.
It is handcrafted from 16 pieces of recycled silver which have been textured and riveted. These beutiful hammered textures represent the rippled surface of the sea.
Rhian has also created 8 beautiful bezel settings on the top edge of the design with different sea glass colours which were carefully chosen to represent the racing colours of the four teams.
The base is created from gorgeous Welsh drift wood. It's fair to say this is a truly special piece to have come to life at Workshop 925. Well done to Rhian a true achievement, its absolutely stunning and so special.
The trophy is hallmarked with the platinum jubilee mark.
Workshop 925 launched in January 2019 and is based at The Mayford Centre which is nestled between Guildford and Woking in Surrey.
The workshop was launched by Kirsten Hendrich after several years teaching within adult education facilities, alongside running her own jewellery brand Kirsten Hendrich Jewellery.
Kirsten often felt frustrated at large class sizes, the lack of specialist equipment and solid workbenches to allow students to really blossom. So, she began her vision which was to create the perfect learning environment for jewellers of all levels to come and learn new skills using professional equipment, providing the best chance possible for students to learn the technical and business skills of the trade within small class sizes enabling plenty of one to one tutor support to aid effective learning.
Workshop 925 is also home to an amazing team of tutors who share Kirsten’s passion for jewellery making, craft and all things handmade. Together they bring you their knowledge, tips and enthusiasm for the industry in the classes they teach and in the workshop environment.
