TOP TIP TUESDAY
Dyslexia and Dyscalculia can make it challenging for children to process information quickly and accurately, and overwhelming tasks can often exacerbate these difficulties.
By breaking down tasks into smaller, more manageable steps, they can focus on one step at a time and feel a sense of accomplishment as they complete each one. This approach can help reduce anxiety and frustration and make learning more accessible and enjoyable.

🌻 Summer holiday tutoring:
I have had a few enquiries about summer holiday tutoring already, so just to confirm that I will be offering optional booster sessions during 4 weeks in August - the weeks beginning 31st July, 7th August, 14th August and 21st August.
I will have availability for mornings or afternoons. These sessions could be for current families, new families or returners and are for children in Reception to Year 4 (English and/or maths).
If you would like to get organised ahead, do feel free to get in touch to book some sessions. Otherwise I will send out a reminder nearer the time.🌻

Hello, I'm Catherine, a highly experienced and qualified primary school teacher, now offering individual tuition in phonics, spelling, reading, writing and maths for children aged four to nine (in Reception to Year Four). I love working with children individually, they make rapid progress and grow in confidence.
I have more than 25 years teaching experience, specialising in Early Years and Key Stage One, giving me an excellent understanding of how young children learn. I tutor from a well resourced room in my home in Hook Heath, Woking. I have a kind, patient and nurturing approach and sessions are engaging, active and fun.
I tutor Monday to Friday after school and on Saturday mornings. Sessions are bespoke - I plan carefully for each child, liaising with and feeding back to parents each week. My fee is £40 for 55 minutes tutoring. Please don't hesitate to get in touch for a chat about your child's needs.
My email address is [email protected]

⭐ New service ⭐
Our Literacy Learning Assessment is aimed at children in Years 1 and 2 (and early into Year 3) who are working below the level of their peers and whose progress is giving cause for concern.
Appropriate early intervention can then be delivered, rather than waiting until the child is old enough for a formal dyslexia assessment.

So proud of this wonderful writing by A! She was enthusiastic to write, had so many ideas, recalling events clearly and in detail, she used the structure of a simple recount (first/ next/ finally) and she used her phonic sounds really well to spell.
The Peter Rabbit immersive drama experience you did in London in the Easter holidays sounded great fun. Well done!
'First a man gave us some rabbit ears and we went upstairs. Next we met a man selling flowers and we picked up some flower pots and found some lavender for Mrs Hedgehog. Finally Mr McGregor trapped the rabbits in the shed. We needed to say "Carrot brain" to get out!'
