Happy Halloween! It's been a fun-filled day of activities for the children at Maybury Montessori, who've enjoyed dressing up as their favourite characters. By participating in tasks like examining pumpkin guts in tuff trays and making their own ghosts, they've refined multiple skills and continued to develop existing ones.

The children at Maybury Montessori have had lots of fun celebrating Diwali. They have explored senory trays themed around Diwali and the celebration of light, additionally they have been able to continue to learn about the colours that make up fireworks. Following this the children expressed their creativity by making many different crafts, including their own clay diya lamps. As always to finish off a topic the children baked some yummy treats to enjoy for their snack.

This week the children have been learning about the harvest festival. Through a range of sensory and play based learning the children have been able to explore a variety of natural resources, in addition to the different aspects that make up harvest. Using their creativity the children were able to make a variety of different crafts inspired by the harvest theme, lastly the children made some delicious pumpkin cookies.

The children of Maybury Montessori explored the wonders of Autumn through sensory play, learning about the season's colours and hibernating animals. Using natural materials and paints, they crafted various creative projects. They also conducted science experiments, making volcanoes erupt, bags explode and bubbles enlarge. Finally, they engaged in gardening and baking, producing delicious sweet potato and cheese pastries, and baked oat balls.

At Maybury Montessori, the children have been investigating the topic "All About Me". Using mirrors the children were able to create self portraits, with different materials that reflected them. The toddlers have worked hard begining to recognise their names, while the preschoolers practiced the letters of their names and began to trace them. In the sensory trays the children were able to explore a variety of textures and were able to look after the babies. While baking the children made some yummy blue berry and banana oats, and some sweet potato biscuits.

At Maybury Montessori, the children have been exploring the topic of "Junk Modelling" focusing on the types of transport they can make. The children used their creativity with a wide variety of materials, to create their beautiful crafts. In addition to this, they investigated a variety of sensory trays that furthur supported their learning about transport. Using this creativity the children constructed their own cars using apple chunks, grapes and spaghetti to hold it together. Finishing with baking some yummy cheesy biscuits.
