Years 5 & 6 French Café Afternoon! 🇫🇷

Our Year 5 and 6 pupils have been learning how to order food and drinks in French, so Mrs Nightingale and Mr Garcia brought the playground to life by transforming it into a French café!

Children ordered their treats in French and enjoyed croissants, brioche, pains au chocolat, crêpes, baguette with Brie and quiche. Lots of pupils joined in by wearing French colours — and the runaway favourite of the day was definitely the grenadine!🥐🥖🥤

A fantastic afternoon of language, culture and fun. 🎉😊

St. John’s absolutely popped with colour today! Our after‑school PTA Colour Run was a huge success — sunshine, smiles, and plenty of rainbow dust everywhere. Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a joyful event! 🥰🌈

Year 6 Residential - Day 3

The children enjoyed a very wet day yesterday doing water sports, they set off earlier to try and avoid the bad weather and were able to do some kayaking and go on the big paddle boards. They finished the activities off with a hot chocolate and some indoor games before heading back to Springhead.

Year 6 Residential - Day 2

Yesterday the children built dens in the woods after a hike. While it showered they made biscuits, and then did some more nature games and activities before the campfire and s’mores. Another lovely day!!

The Year 6 Springhead Residential is underway!
The children enjoyed drinking from the spring, taking part in a scavenger hunt and making mini-worlds. They also went on a lovely walk in the evening where they saw hares and deer!

To enhance their science learning about life cycles, Kites Class (Year 5) have been carefully observing caterpillars over the past few weeks. They watched them grow, form their chrysalises, and finally transform into beautiful butterflies.

Today was especially exciting because the final butterfly emerged, which meant they were able to release them together. The children were absolutely thrilled to see them flutter into the world. 🦋

A wonderful hands‑on learning experience for everyone! 😊

Mill Farm came to visit the children in Early Years this week! They met sheep, donkeys, ducks, pigs, turkeys and more! 🦃🐑🐖🫏
