Achieving through caring. Our core values are: care, aspiration, respect and determination. At Kingsmead we believe in achieving through caring.

Our educational philosophy is a simple one, that as a school we have a duty of care to look after the well being and development of every child - whatever their ability or circumstances. We give all students the tools to access a fulfilling life, realise their potential and prepare them to play their part in society. A triangle of partnership is the linchpin formed between school, students and parents/carers to support students to make the best possible choices.

Congratulations to 14-year-old Ashton T, who stepped up from U15 to play in the men's cricket league. He took 6 wickets in 1 match, including a wicket maiden over! He was recognised on the England Cricket Board for his bowling and is number 5 in the county for his bowling in the men's league. A sports star in the making, well done Ashton!

Mission Complete – London to Paris for Love Musgrove!

After four unforgettable days in the saddle, Mr Norman and two friends have completed an incredible 311-mile (500km) cycle ride from London to Paris in aid of Love Musgrove.

The route threw everything at them – including the brutal hills of Kent and plenty of long days on the bike – before they rolled through the beautiful French countryside and its many picturesque towns on the way to Paris.

It was a tough challenge, but one they’ll never forget. Along the way they met lots of like-minded people, all with their own stories and all cycling to raise money for causes close to their hearts. The support and encouragement from everyone they met made the experience even more special.

The trio would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated and shared their fundraising posts. Every penny raised will go to Love Musgrove, who are fundraising to develop their bereavement suite in the Children’s Unit at Musgrove Park Hospital, helping support local families during the most difficult of times.

A special thank you also goes to TDA Total Dairy Automation, Conway Cladding Ltd and JSC Financial for their generous sponsorship, which helped make the challenge possible.

The three riders are incredibly proud to have completed the challenge and hope the money raised will make a real difference to families across Somerset. Congratulations!

On a hot, sunny Saturday at the beginning of July, The Filing Cabbages played the Party By The Parrett festival at Kingsbury Episcopi. The boys had the 2pm slot on the Main Stage which had an estimated audience of 700 people. Their thirty-minute set went down a storm and included their popular covers of Take Me Out, Ruby, Lonely Boy and Champagne Supernova. They also premiered the newest song in their repertoire, Whistle for the Choir. It was a brilliant experience and the biggest gig yet for The Filing Cabbages, with some exceptional feedback from the organisers and comments on the Party By The Parrett social media posts.

The Filing Cabbages are leaving Kingsmead this term but are fully intending to stick together and continue playing local gigs and events, with six already booked over the summer and into September. If you haven’t already followed them on Instagram, you can find them . Good luck, boys!
