Kingsmead School

Kingsmead School Achieving through caring. Our core values are: care, aspiration, respect and determination. At Kingsmead we believe in achieving through caring.

Our educational philosophy is a simple one, that as a school we have a duty of care to look after the well being and development of every child - whatever their ability or circumstances. We give all students the tools to access a fulfilling life, realise their potential and prepare them to play their part in society. A triangle of partnership is the linchpin formed between school, students and parents/carers to support students to make the best possible choices.

On Thursday, we hosted a fantastic Central Venue Basketball Tournament for our Year 7s. It was brilliant to see so many of our Year 7 students getting involved, having fun and enjoying their basketball. A huge thank you to our amazing Young Leaders, who were fantastic throughout the event; coaching, refereeing and supporting the teams so well.

Well done to all of our fantastic Year 7s for making it such a great afternoon! 🏀🙌 Don’t forget practice on Tuesday Lunch time, everyone welcome.

26 September marks the European Day of Languages, and Kingsmead is celebrating!

Our Year 7 students have created fantastic European flags using an impressive variety of materials. We have been delighted by their creativity and enthusiasm. Well done, Year 7! Next week, the MFL Department will launch its "Guess the Teacher" Quiz. Staff members have shared their personal connections to European countries and languages, and students will have one week to match each clue to the correct teacher. The tutor group with the most correct answers will win a prize. Good luck to everyone taking part!
