🎯🧁 Learning beyond the classroom!

Our Secondary pupils had a fantastic time at the end of term taking part in a wide range of enrichment activities in the last days of term, giving them the opportunity to try something new, develop skills and spend time together outside of their usual lessons.

From making delicious mug cakes with Miss Gray to testing their aim with archery led by the wonderful team from Adventure Plus, there was something for everyone to enjoy. With so many activities on offer, our talented staff and friends from the Christian outdoor education centre helped create a memorable day full of fun, challenge and creativity.

A huge thank you to everyone who organised and led these fantastic activities, making it such a special experience for our pupils!

Thankful Thursday 🚀
Year 11 pupils receive individual careers interviews, and our pupils benefit from careers fairs, work experience and visits from sixth-form colleges and apprenticeship providers. Inspectors noted pupils are well prepared for the world of work. Thank you God for where you send our pupils after here and for watching over them.

🎉 GCSE results day at The King's School! 🎉

We are delighted to celebrate another excellent set of GCSE results with our Year 11 pupils! 🎓👏

This year’s results include:

✨ 52% of grades at 7–9
✨ 31% of grades at 8–9
✨ 98% of grades at 4–9
✨ 92% of grades at 5–9
✨ 100% of pupils achieved 4–9 in English and Maths
✨ 94% achieved 5+ in English and Maths

We are particularly pleased with the strong performances in English, maths and science, alongside the high proportion of top grades across the wider curriculum.

Head of Secondary, Mr Giles Beck, said:
“We are thankful to God for these GCSE results and for the achievements of our pupils. We’re grateful to see that an education where faith and academics go hand in hand can deliver such strong results. Well done to all our Year 11s.”

Year 11 pupil, Jacob, who achieved grades 8 and 9 across all exams taken, said: “The structure of teaching helped me feel well prepared for exams. I'm really happy with the results and thankful for the support from my parents and teachers.”

We are incredibly impressed with all our Year 11 pupils and want to thank their teachers and families for the encouragement, prayer and support they have given throughout their time at The King’s School. ❤️

**Well done, Year 11!** 🎓👏

Community & Citizenship 🤝 From visiting a local care home and donating to children's charities, to litter picks and fundraising — inspectors recognised how our pupils make a real contribution to the lives of others. We're raising kind, responsible citizens. Thank you God for making us able to serve in this way.

Ethos & Character ✝️ Inspectors noted how clearly our Christian ethos comes through in school life — from assemblies and displays to the daily words and actions of staff and pupils. Humility, kindness and integrity aren't just values on a wall; they're lived every day. Thank you God for the freedom to worship in everything we do.

Wellbeing & PSHE 💛 Our PSHE and RSE curriculum was commended for being well-structured and carefully matched to pupils' ages and needs — giving pupils clear strategies to understand themselves, manage emotions and build healthy relationships. Thank you God for helping us to set a curriculum built on Godly values.

As another school year comes to a close, we are saying a very sad goodbye to some much-loved members of The King's School family.

Mrs Blakey, our Head of Early Years, has been part of The King's School from the very beginning. She was there at the very first meeting to prayerfully discern whether God was calling us to establish a Christian school in Witney. Over the years, she has faithfully nurtured and inspired countless little children, laying strong foundations for their learning and faith. Her vision, dedication and love for our youngest pupils have left a lasting legacy.

We also say thank you to Mrs Moxham, our wonderful SENCO, whose care, wisdom and unwavering commitment have helped so many pupils and families feel supported, valued and encouraged to reach their potential.

Finally, we bid farewell to Mrs Wicks, our Secondary PE Teacher, whose enthusiasm and passion for PE have inspired pupils to challenge themselves, develop resilience and enjoy being active. We are particularly thankful for her dedication to helping the secondary pupils run their Revival Prayer meeting three mornings a week. We’re starting to see such fruit from this prayerfulness.

They will each be greatly missed, and we pray that God richly blesses them in the next chapter of their lives.

If you have a favourite memory, a message of thanks, or a story to share about Mrs Blakey, Mrs Moxham or Mrs Wicks, we'd love to hear it. Please leave your memories in the comments below so we can celebrate all they have meant to The King's School community.

🏰 History came to life for Year 7 at Warwick Castle!

Our Year 7 pupils enjoyed a fantastic day exploring one of England's most iconic castles. From thrilling historical re-enactments to a time-travelling tower experience, the past was brought vividly to life.

The pupils showed great courage as they climbed the highest tower and walked the castle walls, taking in spectacular views along the way. A particular highlight of the day was the magnificent birds of prey display, showcasing these incredible creatures in flight.

A memorable day of learning, adventure and history beyond the classroom.

Inspectors noted that our GCSE results are typically above national averages — notably in sciences. From STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) problem-solving in primary to the recent introduction of triple science GCSE, we're building confident, curious scientists at every stage.

What a wonderful way to celebrate our final Forest School session of the academic year! 🌳🔥

Our Early Years children enjoyed toasting bread over the campfire and making their very own delicious cheese toasties. Everyone showed excellent fire safety, listened carefully, and enjoyed sharing this special outdoor experience together.

Forest School provides so many opportunities to build confidence, develop practical skills, and create lasting memories—and this was the perfect way to end another fantastic year. Well done, everyone! 💚
