The Mulberry Bush Charity Transforming the lives of all those affected by childhood trauma

The Mulberry Bush is a not-for-profit charity consisting of The Mulberry Bush School, a non-maintained residential special school with a three-year programme which runs for 38-weeks a year, working with vulnerable and severely traumatised primary aged children and their families from across England and Wales, The Mulberry Bush Outreach, our outreach and training department and The International Centre for Therapeutic Care.

A colourful thank you to our friends at Crayola ! 🖍️💙

The pupils of the Mulberry Bush School created this magnificent card to show their appreciation for the wonderful art supplies Crayola generously donated to our schools.

Thank you, Crayola, for inspiring creativity and helping the children bring their ideas to life!

Yesterday, we held a blanket ceremony to celebrate Di and say goodbye as she prepares to leave The Mulberry Bush.

Those who have worked alongside Di spoke warmly about her kindness, generosity and wealth of experience, as well as the many positive relationships she has built with families and colleagues over the years.

They also shared one of the things they will remember most: her unmistakable laugh. As one colleague put it, “Di’s laugh preceded her. You’d hear her laughing around the school.”

Thank you Di for everything you have brought to The Mulberry Bush and the families you helped to support.💙

Last week, we said a heartfelt and grateful goodbye to Jane, our Therapeutic Trainer & Outreach Practitioner.

To mark her time at The Mulberry Bush, colleagues came together for a blanket leaving ceremony-a chance to reflect on the relationships and contributions woven through Jane's time with us.

Jane has brought warmth, thoughtfulness and dedication to her work helping to support professionals who work alongside children and young people. Her impact will continue long after she leaves.

Thank you, Jane. We wish you good luck on your next chapter 💙

Words like attachment, trauma and regulation are becoming part of everyday conversation but we may not always mean the same thing by them.

Taking time to understand what these words mean for each family can create a stronger shared understanding of the child and their needs.

Making time for yourself, asking for help, completing something you have been putting off or simply allowing yourself to rest-all progress matters, however small it may feel.

What is your little win today? 💙

Could you help a child experience safety, stability and trust, perhaps for the first time?

As a Residential Childcare Worker, you’ll support children aged 5–12 through everyday moments, from homework, meals and play to bedtime routines and times of distress.

The work can be challenging and unpredictable, but it is also deeply meaningful. We’re looking for calm, compassionate and resilient people who can stay consistent through difficult moments and help children build positive relationships.

Varied, purposeful and profoundly rewarding, this is more than a job. It is the chance to make a lasting difference.

Last Tuesday, we brought colleagues from across The Mulberry Bush together for a wonderful celebration evening at the lovely Maybush near Witney. 💙

It was a chance to celebrate and reflect on everything we have achieved together and, most importantly, enjoy one another’s company-with plenty of laughter, dancing, delicious food and awards along the way!

A huge thank you to every member of our incredible team. Your care, commitment and individuality make The Mulberry Bush the special community it is, and we are so grateful for everything you bring.
