I’ve learnt more about business in the last 12 months than I have in the whole 5 years since leaving my corporate job!

Something can look successful from the outside but it costing why to much to run from the inside and I think there are so many businesses in our position.

The government increases in business rates where ours have gone up 46%(😳) makes being in this building just not financially viable and success now isn’t the lovely big premises and big team, it’s continuing to build a profitable business with low overheads so we can enjoy and love it again rather than constantly worrying about money!

We are incredibly lucky we have the option to move the business home, it’s not ideal and it’s not a long term plan but for now it’s the perfect solution to protect everything we’ve worked so hard to build!

I’ve always shown the realities of having a business and that’s not going to change so I’ll be bringing you along on this next chapter of our crazy journey!! 🎢

We are moving from Bladon on the 7th September, we need to clear our huge stock room as there isn’t room at home for all the stock we have now so we’ve a huge 20% off site wide sale which ends on the 31st August!

Isn’t this the most incredible wedding present from their best friends?! 🥹💕

All engraved with their very own handwriting which will never ever disappear or fade!

When we launched the new engraved wine boxes just a few weeks ago I envisaged making presents like this but these are more adults doing the writing as opposed to children and I wasn’t sure how well they’d be received but omg we’ve made so many with lots of different milestone occasions!! 🍾

This incredible one for a wedding gift, 70th birthdays and 5th wedding’s anniversaries which is ‘wood’ - how bloomin perfect!!!!

I so hope this wedding was just amazing yesterday and the bride and groom totally love their gift from their friends! 💒

This most certainly isn’t the end of the Creative Factory, if anything this is just the beginning! 🏭

When we opened in July 2025 we had no idea if this would work, but my goodness! The Creative Factory has become the most successful thing we’ve ever done in our business! 😍

However, the government increases in business rates (ours have increased 46%!!! 😩🤯 ) it makes it completely unsustainable for us to stay in this permanent location and pour ridiculous amounts of money into a building we don’t own…..

And actually, I believe, the Creative Factory shouldn’t be in 1 location….. it should have lots of spaces! 🗺️

I get messages all the times saying ‘I wish we lived closer’ and actually instead of asking you to come to us, we can come to your local town instead!! 🤩🥳

We want every child in the UK to experience the Creative Factory and the magic it holds! 🎨

There are so many incredible plans but for now, we are closing the doors here in Bladon on the 28th August and we’d love to see you before we go…..

We’ve removed the £5 booking fee per person so it’s now completely FREE to come, you only pay for what you make!

If you haven’t heard the news, we are moving!! 🏡

The government increases in Business Rates & all other tax makes it completely impossible to run the business from this location so in the short term we are moving the business home!

It’s not ideal but we need to do this to protect the future of our amazing business and we are so fortunate to have this as an option, many businesses don’t!

We’ll then look for a new smaller premises with smaller business rates in the new year!

The goals for the business are all the same, we are just taking a little detour on the road to get there! 🛣️

We are moving on the 7th September and we have a huge stock room which we can’t take home with us so we have a 20% off site wide running for the whole of August!

Our biggest news….!

We are moving back home!!

I’ve been really vocal about what the government increases in tax means for small businesses, particularly ours, my social media feed is full of businesses announcing they are closing and it’s absolutely devastating to read.

The increases in Business Rates (our increased 46%!!!!) Employers National Insurance etc etc etc makes it unsustainable for us to remain in our commercial premises here in Bladon.

Luckily we have the option for moving the business back home, many businesses don’t but we are very fortunate to be able to do this - even though it’s not ideal in the slightest but we’ll make it work in the short term!!

We’ve a stock room full to the brim which we need to reduce to be able to move home so we now have a site wide sale on! Use code ‘thenextchapter’ for 20% off!

The Creative Factory will also sadly need to close on the 28th August, we have MASSIVE plans for the Creative Factory and actually, knowing now what we know, the Creative Factory will become an incredible experience up and down the country rather than in 1 static location - we are excited to tell you more about this!!

I thought if we could get 10-15 families that would be amazing but to have over 120 of you is insane!! 😍

✨ We need 10 amazing parents to help us create something brand new…

We’ve had an idea that we’re so excited about and it’s been bubbling away since we launched Dinky Artist 5 years ago! We are finally at the stage where we need your honest thoughts & opinions before we bring it to life so we can make sure it has everything you really need and will use every single day!

We’re looking for 10 - 15 parents with children of different ages who’d be happy to spend around 30 minutes chatting with us over the next couple of weeks.

We’re not looking for people to tell us it’s a great idea… we’re looking for honest opinions that will help shape something really special 🌟

Your loved ones handwriting 😭♥️

Working with handwritten letters, notes & recipes you’ve kept from your parents, grandparents and all your loved ones is one of my most favourite things😍 I don’t think there is a bigger privilege.

I LOVED making these plush toys for boys who’d recently lost their grandma 💔

I often think, (and maybe this is super weird!!!) but when we are restoring handwriting I think that person is stood over me making sure I’m doing it right and getting their letters 100% perfect!! 🤪 Is that weird?!?! 😂

Do you keep handwritten cards? I do! I’ve a drawer full of them!

Is this the most sentimental present ever?!?! Why are milestone gifts always so underwhelming and so hard to find a really special one?! 🤔

It’s my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary…. OMG 50 years!! Sooooo incredible! 💒

Me and my 2 sisters wanted to get them something so special and meaningful but we just couldn’t find anything which wasn’t just super generic so Simon and I came up with this idea and I honestly couldn’t love it more!! ♥️

We asked all the grandchildren, the husbands and partners to write a message, the grandkids also drew some pictures! 🎨

We engraved them on all 4 sides of the box!

My parents will enjoy the champagne but this box, they’ll love this more than anything they’ve ever had!!♥️

Watching it come together reminded me of exactly why we started Dinky Artist in the first place…..

The most meaningful gifts aren’t the most expensive ones… They’re the ones that preserve a moment in time and this is what we do day in day out 😍

I think this might be one of my favourite things we’ve ever created🥳

Should we launch this??
Maybe we should also engrave the inside lid so when it’s opened there’s another handwritten message!?
