And that's a wrap! Kids haven with Courtney is officially closed ready for the big move in 2 weeks!

What a year for my new business back in the UK after 3 years in Cyprus! I am so grateful for the support I have received from my lovely families who have supported my business, I have been blessed with the best! The gifts and heartfelt words have been greatly appreciated and I am so thankful. I have loved working with all the lovely children over the last year, even on the hard days.. the days I questioned my sanity and self, they all made it worthwhile. They will all hold a special place in my heart forever ❤️.

I have learned so much more about myself since childminding and learnt new skills that I will pursue going forwards. I have been so lucky to have my kids at home with me for another year whilst working. All 3 of them have handled the house being taken over so well and have loved the kids as much as me! They genuinely saw the children to be like family 💕 .

Huge changes are upcoming for us as a family but we will take it all in our stride, just like we have with everything else we've done so far as a family.

But For now, it's over and out!

We said goodbye to a firecracker of a little boy today. Someone who I know will go on to thrive in big school. With the right support and encouragement he's going to do amazing things! His cheeky personality will certainly be missed at kids haven but we are lucky enough to still have his sister in the setting and plans for him to come in half term! So it's not a complete goodbye, it's see you soon.

We were out and exploring the park bright and early this morning! We got there for half 8 which was actually really nice as we were the only ones there so had the whole park to venture around! They loved it so much that we ended up spending nearly 2 hours there! Love it when the weather is like this, getting out and exploring makes such a difference to the day! ☀️

Now back to the house for a snack and wait for the others to arrive so we can have a crafty afternoon 🎨🖌️

🌋🌋This morning we have been learning about volcanoes - throughout the summer holidays my older children will be at home with me too so it's finding activities to keep ALL ages entertained throughout the day!

We started watching some videos on volcanoes- this captured all the children's interest, the little ones were amazed by the bright colours and the older ones were interested in what causes volcanoes to happen.
Then we had a go at making our own volcanoes with fruit, before we put anything on the fruit, all the children had a taste of the lemon juice, some loved it, some found it sour 🤣. The children loved watching the chemical reaction happen!
We then did some mark making with the fruit and 'lava'. To end the activity the children had a go at making their own volcanoes with the colours we had seen on the TV. 🌋🌋
This is a great tuff tray for skills Sensory play, language development, number recognition, color recognition, hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, imaginative play, creativity.

What a busy week. Some of our favourite activities this week.

This week we celebrated Independence day 🇱🇷(4th July)
we practiced ways we could be 'independent' around the setting. Some of these included:
🇱🇷Tidying up the toys
🇱🇷Putting our shoes away
🇱🇷Using our cups to drink from
🇱🇷Using a fork / spoon to eat our food
🇱🇷Walking to the car
🇱🇷Making our own choices (choosing which snack we wanted out the cupboard, picking which toy box to get out.)
🇱🇷Decorated their cupcakes
🇱🇷The children loved using the tuff tray to make firework paintings after watching a video of how they celebrate independence day with a fireworks show at the end of the night.

Today was a girl's day, we had so much fun playing with the dolls and ducks in the tuff tray, washing them, brushing their hair and drying them in their towels, then repeating the process 🤣. We read Oliver duck has fun in the pond and 5 little ducks then we put the little babies (dolls) down for a nap before the big babies went for their own nap - tiring work washing and caring for them little babies all morning 🤣.
