Last week we took room on the broom to the woods to read, then we made our own wands using sticks and decorated stars with autumn leaves 🍂 the children then had a great time pretending to cast spells 🪄

Wednesday is our walk day 🍂🍃 the children were so happy and loved our autumn hunt through the woods this morning. We ran down the grassy hill, had a picnic snack in the sunshine while reading the gruffalo then carried on through the woods finding treasures along the way!

This morning we went to ‘Forest Play’ in the school’s forest school area, the children found some rain water and we decided to see what happened when we put leaves in there…. This led us to investigate which things floated and which sank to the bottom. The children noticed the colours of the leaves and we talked about the changing of season to autumn. We also saw our favourite friend the muntjac 🍃🍂

Wednesday morning walk, making the most of our beautiful surroundings…We saw so much nature on our way, a ladybird 🐞 which the children gently held. We collected red leaves and talked about the change of season to autumn. We found blackberries and tried them, they were yummy!
Along the way we saw different types of berries that we learnt the names of. And we also found some apples which we later ate at preschool! 🍎

How many attempts did it take us to make a swing in forest school today?! 😅🤣

We sat on the mound and watched the big children at their school sports day 🤩it’s a perfect viewing spot and means the children can choose when they want to go off and play if they’ve finished watching.
