Counting ladybirds, - we had a Ladybird hunt, we counted their spots and matched them to the numberboards and the other Ladybird, to make a pair. This gave the Little Hearts opportunities to practice thier counting skills, subitising skills, matching 2 objects the same, use their mathematical vocabulary such as more and less.

What the Ladybird heard at the Seaside' - Cutting the mermaids hair (yellow spaghetti), giving the Little Hearts opportunities to practice their scissor control, practice using one handed tools, exploring the texture of the 'hair', listening to the story and acting it out through their play.

Seaside bingo, the Little Hearts had the opportunity to name the objects on the boards/cards as well as matching them together. The Little Hearts took turns, helping each other find a picture that is on their board, using positional words like under, next too, on top etc.

We went to the seaside today, we explored our own sand and sea, (Coloured oats and Crushed cheerios), we used our mini buckets, spades and racks to make marks, build sandcastles, mix, fill and empty. Giving the Little Hearts opportunities to use and develop their hand eye coordination, fine motor skills, mark making skills, early knowledge of mass and quantity.

We used our love of loose parts to create our own beach pictures on the tray, using a variety of yellow and blue items to do so!! This gave the Little Hearts opportunities to extend their imagination, creative skills, free play skills, use their fine motor skills, develop their colour recognition, counting skills, naming items and so much more.

Exploring numbers 1 - 10 with sand numbers, shell pictures, numicons and pom poms. This gave the Little Hearts opportunities to use, develop and practice their counting skills, their number recognition, their number vocabulary, their matching quantity with number skills and their subitising skills. We explored the texture of the shells and pom poms too.

Using the blue and yellow mega blocks, to represent the sea and sand, we have practiced our building skills and our balancing skills, this gave the Little Hearts opportunities to use and develop their hand eye coordination, fine and gross motor skills, counting with intent, imagination skills, creative skills and team work.
