💡Lighthouse Day 💡

Tuff tray,
We've been hanging numbers on the washing lines hanging from our lighthouse, looking at sequences and patterns of numbers, practicing our number recognition as well as our counting and using out pincer grip to squeeze the pegs.

We had a rainbow of feet to decorate with our wooden treasures today, using our developing fine motor skills to pick up and place the treasures where we wanted them, we practiced our colour recognition and colour matching skills too.
We wiggled our toes as we explored.
And danced around all day.

🚦 Traffic Lights Day 🚦

We have explored a colour sorting/matching tray today, focusing on the 3 colours of Traffic lights. We used our forever developing fine motor skills to pick up each loose part with the tweezers and place in the same coloured bowl.
We talked about road safety too.

🦉 International Owl Awareness Day 🦉

We had a small world scene today, with oats for the forest floor, trees, logs, and owl pictures. We had our mini buckets and scoops to explore the oats.
Giving our Hearts the opportunity to use and develop their ever growing fine motor skills, their hand eye coordination, their imaginations (the oats have been used in a number of games today including the Heart 2 Heart cafe, the hotel and the doctors as medicine) other resources have been added throughout the day, we've practiced our turn taking and vocabulary as we've used our words to ask our friends if we can have a go or use a certain item.

🍉 Watermelon day 🍉

We created our own watermelon with red playdough and black rice. Using the tools to cut and make shapes out of the playdough, we added the rice to make
the seeds. We used our forever developing finger muscles to manipulate, squash, squeeze and fold the playdough.

🕷🕸 Spiderman Day 🕷🕸

Dave made us a Spiderman face out of rice for us to explore with our hands, scoops, buckets, bowls and so much more. We loved filling up the little buckets and pour them over our hands, we filled our scoops and poured them into the buckets, we scooped up the rice with our hands and fingers and sprinkled onto the tray to make it sound like rain.

Within our outside kitchen area we had loads of petals and water so we could create our friendship potions, through working together, pouring, mixing, filling, grinding and pulling. The smell was amazing.

We explored what makes us a good friend and what makes us a not so good friend, matching the photos to the words and headings on the tray. This encouraged lots of conversations, questions and new words to build our forever growing vocabularies.
