Today we welcomed Bear to our Woodend Farms Great Baddow site for his first official visit. Bear will be joining us as our therapy dog, supporting wellbeing, emotional regulation and connection across the school. Under Miss Steadman’s guidance, he’ll be learning how to live out our values of kindness, belonging, believing and achieving. He’s already settled beautifully — and he can’t wait to meet you all.

The Woodend Farm team took on Pen y Fan yesterday and they were phenomenal.
They walked with purpose, heart and determination — all for a brilliant cause.
Proud of them on school days, proud of them on mountain days… proud of them always. 💙

On Monday, a team of Woodend Farm staff will be joining the Reach Group Community Project to climb Pen y Fan. We’re climbing for children who find the school holidays the hardest time of the year — children who need safe spaces, structure, and people who care.
If you’re able to donate, your support will help fund holiday projects that make a real difference to children who need them most.
Every donation, big or small, helps us take another step up that mountain.

🏆✨ We are delighted to have been awarded the Values-Based Education (VbE) Quality Mark! ✨🏆
Following a full accreditation visit by Dr Neil Hawkes, Founder of Values-Based Education, Woodend Farm School has been recognised as an excellent values-based school that richly deserves the Values Quality Mark.
The report highlights that our values are not simply words on a wall, they are lived and breathed throughout our school community. It recognised our strong culture of kindness, belonging, believing, achieving, respect, accountability, trust, honesty, forgiveness, teamwork, growth and empowerment, and the way these values help our pupils thrive.
We are particularly proud that the report identified:
🌟 Outstanding wellbeing and interpersonal relationships
🌟 Compassionate and authentic leadership
🌟 A culture of trust, inclusion and belonging
🌟 Values-centred behaviour support rooted in restoration and reflection
🌟 Staff who genuinely live and model the school's values every day
One comment from the report particularly resonated with us:
"This is a school with a huge heart, where meaningful interpersonal relationships create an inclusive, happy school; pupils are well educated and are given an outstanding level of individual care."
This achievement belongs to our incredible pupils, families, governors and staff team, whose commitment to our values creates a community where every child feels valued, understood and empowered to succeed.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. 💚

Woodend Farm School is cheering England on! 🇬🇧🏆
Yesterday we celebrated with a brilliant World Cup‑themed day, where staff and pupils truly embraced the excitement. Alongside exploring different countries, cultures and flags from around the world, children were encouraged to design T‑shirts for the team they were supporting — creating a vibrant mix of colours, creativity and pride across the school.
We finished with a fantastic assembly full of energy, teamwork and community spirit.
We’re behind you all the way tonight… come on England! 🔥🇬🇧

Today, Oak class taught the rest of the school about water safety. They taught us all about the different flags on the beach and what they mean and the water safety code. Oak class empowered our pupils to keep themselves safe this summer: well done boys!
