Artist Alert! πΌοΈ π¨ βοΈ π
We are delighted to be taking part in the art display at the Medieval Fayre at St Nicolas Church on the final Saturday of June β a wonderful community tradition that celebrates our local history and heritage. βͺοΈ πͺ
Children across the school have been busy developing their artistic skills to create a range of medieval-inspired artwork for display. Year 3 have designed beautiful illuminated letters, Year 4 have created colourful stained glass window designs, Year 5 have explored the world of knights and longbowmen, and Year 6 have produced impressive artwork featuring medieval buildings and monarchs.
We are incredibly proud of the creativity, effort and skill shown by our pupils. Here are just a few examples of their fantastic work. We hope you enjoy seeing them as much as we have enjoyed creating them! π π¨

π Festival of Fieldwork 2026 π
This week, children across the school took part in our Festival of Fieldwork, putting their geographical enquiry skills into practice both around the school grounds and within the local area.
Each year group investigated a different aspect of geography, including exploring local habitats, measuring wind direction, examining the colours and characteristics of different rocks, and investigating local street names to learn more about the history and features of our community.
To conclude, each year group presented their results, sharing what they had discovered and learning from the investigations completed by others. Well done, Howbridge! π π π§ πͺ¨

Today, we were delighted to welcome Dame Priti Patel to our school. Upon arrival, she was introduced to our Therapy Dogs before visiting the Eco Refill Shop, where the Year 5 Soap & Scrub Team proudly showcased their work and explained the purpose of the project. Dame Patel even purchased some of our products! π§Όπ«§
Next, members of the School Council gave Dame Patel a tour of our Pantry, sharing their aspirations to expand the provision by including fresh fruit and vegetables grown by our Gardening Club. Ms Levett also showed her around our wonderful garden! ππ₯¦πΉ
Dame Patel spoke to pupils about her Get Witham Reading initiative and visited our classrooms, taking the time to see the fantastic learning taking place across the school. βοΈπ
It was a wonderful opportunity for our children to share their ideas, achievements and ambitions, and they represented the school brilliantly throughout the visit. β¨π

6S pupils showed fantastic enthusiasm and resilience as they took part in Boston Harbour Pirates Game out on the field - even in the rain! β½οΈ βοΈ
The field became a lively βBoat Deckβ where Shipmates dribbled skilfully to protect their footballs, while determined Pirates chased them down to knock the balls overboard. There was so much energy, teamwork, and laughter throughout the session!
Despite the wet conditions, everyone gave their best effort, showing great determination and positive attitudes. A special mention to those who bounced straight back into the game after completing their βbountyβ challengesβtrue perseverance in action! πͺ
