Gold for The Rhythm of Rainwater at RHS Sandringham Flower Show, a garden featuring Crittall windows and doors within its studio.

Designer Anthony Purdy explains the thinking behind the garden, inspired by nature and the quiet value of rainwater, with movement captured as it travels from the studio roof into the tanks below, creating a series of musical interactions throughout the space.

A meeting of craftsmanship, creativity and nature.

Last week, we were proud to contribute Crittall windows and doors to a show garden at this year’s Sandringham Flower Show, where architecture and horticulture came together in perfect harmony.

Steel glazing has long been used to connect interiors with the landscapes beyond, allowing light, views and nature to become part of the experience.

It was a pleasure to see our products take their place within such a carefully considered garden design, supporting a space built around detail, craftsmanship and a connection to the outdoors.

The popularity of steel-framed glazing has inspired many alternatives, but authentic Crittall offers something beyond appearance.

Manufactured from high-quality steel, our windows and doors deliver the strength, precision and refined sightlines that have made Crittall a recognised name in architecture for generations.

This South West London townhouse, which was awarded third place in the 2025 Crittall House of the Year Awards, demonstrates how thoughtful design can transform the way a home is experienced.

From heritage restorations to contemporary homes, every Crittall installation carries the craftsmanship and engineering behind the original steel window.

If it isn’t Crittall, it isn’t the original.

Architecture is a conversation between past and present.

In this project, the Victorian home’s historic character meets a contemporary Scandinavian-inspired extension. Crittall steel windows and doors mediate this dialogue, bridging old and new with precision and subtlety.

Slender steel profiles allow the Georgian-style glazing pattern to carry through every space, while large French doors and picture windows frame views and invite the garden inside.

Every decision was made to respect heritage while accommodating modern life.

Every Crittall window is handcrafted at our Essex factory, on the very site in Witham where we have been perfecting steel glazing since 1919.

From the first cut of steel to the final quality check, each frame carries over 175 years of expertise, skillfully shaped by our artisans.

Precise.
Considered.
Built to outlast the building it sits in.

This is craftsmanship in its truest form.

And when it comes to installation, only our genuine Specialist Partners know Crittall products inside and out, ensuring every frame performs and looks exactly as intended.

Light, without the noise.

Crittall steel windows rise between you and the world beyond. Double or triple glazing shapes a quiet boundary, softening the day while leaving sunlight to wander freely.

The effect is immediate yet gentle. Rooms breathe differently. Moments feel slower, more deliberate. Every corner becomes more considered.

Sound recedes, light endures. A home shaped not just by walls, but by stillness, calm, and design.

Crittall windows are not just about timeless beauty. They are engineered for modern efficiency.

The thermal technology built into our contemporary steel systems means you do not have to choose between the iconic slim frames you love and the energy performance your home demands. Advanced thermally broken profiles reduce heat loss, and modern sealing systems keep draughts out for decades.

Traditional design. Modern performance. No compromise.
