🌟 It’s been a busy summer at StandUP! 🌟

While many have been enjoying the summer break, the team at StandUP has been busier than ever!

🎭 Our Drama School continues to grow, offering more young people opportunities to experience performance, build confidence, develop interview and communication skills, and take part in exciting workshops.

📚 Our Alternative Provision has also been incredibly busy. Working in partnership with Essex County Council, we are supporting young people who are currently unable to access mainstream education, providing them with bespoke 1:1 tuition tailored to their individual needs.

And we’re delighted to share another exciting step forward…

🎉 StandUP is now working with Norfolk County Council!

This means we can extend our Alternative Provision services even further, helping more young people access the education, support and opportunities they are entitled to.

💙 At the heart of everything we do is one simple aim: helping young people re-engage, build confidence and reach their potential.

The last few weeks have been incredibly busy supporting young people, working alongside schools and local authorities, and helping students take positive steps back towards education.

One thing we've been reminded of is that every young person learns differently, and sometimes, all it takes is one person believing in them to make a real difference.

📍 Location: Chelmsford
🕒 Hours: 15 hours per week (across 4 days)
🎓 Role: 1:1 Tuition & Emotional Support

We are seeking a nurturing, patient tutor who has experience supporting children and young people with:
• SEN (Special Educational Needs)
• SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs)
• Anxiety and EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance)

The ideal tutor will:
✔ Be calm, empathetic, and relationship-focused
✔ Have experience adapting learning to individual needs
✔ Be confident delivering core subjects (English, Maths, or Science)
✔ Be able to create engaging, personalised lesson plans
✔ Work collaboratively with families and professionals

Experience working in Alternative Provision, tuition, or SEN settings is highly desirable. QTS is welcomed but not essential for the right candidate with strong SEN experience.
