📂 From the Files - 🚔 DVSA Enforcement in Action! 🚓
During a stop on the M6, DVSA officers took swift action after identifying multiple offences.
🚨 An immediate prohibition and fixed penalty notice were issued after items were found dangerously obstructing the driver's view through the windscreen.
⚖️ Officers then discovered the trailer was a staggering 2 tonnes overweight, resulting in a weight prohibition and a further penalty.
🛑 The vehicle was immobilised at the roadside and removed from service until it was made safe and compliant.
✅ Another unsafe vehicle was taken off the road, helping to keep the UK's roads safer for everyone. 🚛👮♂️

🚔 More than 100 drivers were caught putting lives at risk during a four-day police operation on the motorway network.
Using an unmarked HGV cab provided by National Highways, roads policing officers spotted dangerous driving behaviours that would have been difficult to detect from a standard patrol car. 🚛👮
Between 29 June and 2 July, officers stopped 104 drivers: 🚚 78 were driving HGVs or LGVs. 🚗 26 were driving smaller vehicles.
The offences included: 📵 11 drivers using a mobile phone. 🚫 30 drivers not wearing a seat belt. 🚙 16 drivers not in proper control of their vehicle. ⚠️ 7 drivers driving without due care and attention.
Officers also dealt with speeding, unnecessary hard shoulder stops, insecure loads and poorly maintained vehicles.
One driver was even caught falling asleep behind the wheel. 😴
Police stressed that the operation wasn't about targeting HGVs, but about improving road safety. Large vehicles can cause devastating consequences in a collision, making safe and responsible driving essential for everyone.
🚘 Every journey carries responsibility. Stay focused, obey the rules and help keep everyone safe on the roads.
