Another brilliant—and very busy—Senior Drop-In! 🎮🎙️

The centre was packed with young people chilling out, playing games with their mates, welcoming and coaching some of our newer seniors, and recording podcasts in the studio.

It’s great to see the group growing and our young people making the space their own—whether they want to compete, create something or simply spend time with friends. 💙

🎮 We are so back!!!

Our regular weekly programme returns this week, with a new timetable and lots for our young people to get involved in.

🏗️ Minecraft Build Battles
Teams will take on a new themed building challenge each week, earning points throughout the term as they compete for the top spot.

⚽ Rocket League Esports
Players will explore the world of Rocket League esports, from major professional events to grassroots community competitions.

🛠️ Fortnite Advanced Mechanics
Young people will work on advanced building, editing, movement and fighting skills to take their gameplay to the next level.

🏆 Competitive & Tournament Group
Our Friday group remains open to ages 13+ and will give young people opportunities to design, organise and run tournaments—or simply jump in and compete!

🎮 Senior Drop-in
Our Wednesday evening drop-in is now open to young people from S1 upwards.

The Academy will now run in set terms, giving young people more flexibility to change groups and allowing us to welcome more new members. Registration for the next term will open shortly before the October break, so keep an eye on our page for details!

🎮 LIMITED SPACES AVAILABLE! 🎮

We have a small number of spaces available in our junior programmes for the Summer–October term!

Young people aged 8–13 can take part in:

⛏️ Minecraft
🚗 Rocket League
🏆 Fortnite

The academy is about much more than gaming. Young people will:

⭐ Meet new friends
⭐ Build confidence
⭐ Develop teamwork and communication
⭐ Learn valuable digital skills
⭐ Improve their gameplay and work towards mastering their chosen game

Sessions take place throughout the week, with different groups available depending on age and game.

Spaces are very limited and are expected to fill quickly.

☀️ Week 1 of Summer Club = complete! ☀️

What a brilliant first week of our Wishaw YMCA Summer Programme! 💙🧡

We kicked things off with gaming, crafts, challenges, a rainy-day change of plans, Hollywood Bowl, Senior Drop In and plenty of fun along the way.

Even when the weather didn’t play ball, our young people absolutely did — getting involved, trying new things, spending time with friends and making the most of the first week of summer. 🌧️➡️🌟

This is what summer at Wishaw YMCA is all about: fun, friendship, confidence, new experiences and making memories.

☀️ Week 4 of Summer Club = complete! ☀️

What a week at Wishaw YMCA! 💙🧡

From gaming and jewellery making to Belhaven Park, Summerlee and Senior Drop In, our young people have packed so much into another brilliant week of the summer holidays.

The best part has been seeing everyone laughing, joining in, making friends, trying new things and creating memories together.

We’re now moving into our last week of Summer Club, so let’s make it a good one! Keep an eye on our page for the Week 5 schedule and all the details.

Week two of Y Esports off season was Rocket League.

Congratulations to the amazing YMCA Tayside Tubbs (team1) who were able to come back from an early defeat to complete the lower bracket run and take the win from the reigning Y Esports Rocket League Champions here at YMCA Wishaw.

Well done Tubbs.

Valiant efforts were shown by all - next week is the final week of offseason, who will take the day?
