It was a busy session at Ely library yesterday morning. The last session working with Cambridgeshire County Council Reduce Waste team, using up fruit and yoghurt to make delicious granola fruit pots and talking about reducing food waste. We have visited 6 libraries over the summer with a variety of activities, it has been a lot of fun! However it does have a serious point to it…. The average UK household loses about £470 to £1,000 per year on edible food that gets thrown in the bin. About two-thirds of the food thrown away could have been eaten. Come and learn more at the Fenland Food Festival on Saturday 5 September, 10 till 3 at the QMC!
